Liz's Quest for Bodacious Boobies

So here's a thingy that I haven't really talked about much. I had a consultation for breast augmentation Thursday (07/07) in Tampa with Dr. Greenwald. After months and months of considering it and looking around, I finally booked a consultation with him and it went really well. His office is really nice, his staff is really nice, he has plaques of awards, frames of degrees and certifications, oh and a fish tank in the lobby. (bonus!)

Really nice guy, very kind yet straightforward. He looked at my current development and actually complimented my current growth and how soft they were (thanks, Doc!). We talked about the procedure, considerations regarding transgender women vs natal women, why I'm seeking plastic surgery, and after care. He also had an intern with him which I could have declined to be in the room with me but maybe she hasn't had much exposure to transgender patients so I figured why not.

After the first part of the consultation, I met with the lady in charge of the money. She gave me a quote for the procedure (not sure if I'm allowed to mention that $ figure or not) and let me know that the majority of fees are due prior to surgery and the last amount is due the day of (which goes to the surgical facility). She told me this quote is good for 6 months and gave me a variety of payment options. I could pay for that now, and I was really tempted to whip out my checkbook and say "who do I make this out to?" but I want to save up a little more so I have a security cushion since I'll be off work for 2 weeks and don't want to be flat broke going into this. Also I'm hoping with work to earn some vacation time so if anything, maybe I can be off work and still get paid. She also told me the day of the surgery I need to bring a front-closure sports bra.

So the next step now is to save up a little more money, then book the pre-surgery consultation where I try on different sizers to see what I'm happy with and how I'm going to look. I have to bring a tight shirt and a thin bra for this step. Dr. Greenwald also said walking helps the healing process but I don't want to go walking when it's a billion degrees outside, so luckily that won't be happening for another two months or....wait, I could always mall walk.

When I dropped the drape down so Dr. could look at my development he said "well you do have breasts" and I wanted to say "I do?!" because in my mind these are still leftover man-boobs but I guess they've grown enough to where they are breast-like, so that's cool.

Also I have to stop smoking 4 weeks prior to surgery. I'm sure I'll be extremely pleasant to be around that month...

But I did say that if that's what I have to do for this, then I'm okay with it. Of course talk is cheap.

One thing that I thought was interesting was one of the first email replies I received from his office was them thanking me for choosing them for my consultation and not letting price sway my decision. I'll have to ask during the fitting if they know how much their competitors charge because I haven't really found any prices on any websites I was looking on. Mom advised me that when it comes to your body, you probably shouldn't go with whoever is the cheapest.

Maybe I'll jokingly ask next time if they're running any coupons or specials. Buy one boob, get one free? Happy hour: 2 for 1? :P

Oh! and I got to feel an implant! It felt very boob-like and had kind of a rubber-like outside coating which I guess prevents it from sliding around. It was really cool to hold, and to think those are what's going to be inside me 6 months from now. I think they only use Natrelle implants. He quoted me a price for round silicone, which I'm guessing is his recommendation. I never did ask him his thoughts on silicone v saline or round v teardrop. He also said it would be over the muscle. Remind me to read up about that after I'm done typing this up.

Breast augmentation was on my list of things to do this year, so I'm glad I finally got that ball rolling.

So if all goes well, by December, I too will hopefully be a member of the DD-club. We'll see what size looks great on me. :D

It sounds like you are looking into all the angles Lizzie. I too would not recommend a cut price job. You will be living with the results so best is good!

Good luck - I hope the final result is exactly how you want it x

That sounds so exciting Lizzie. I must admit to being a bit jealous. While i can't complain about the growth i've gotten a bit more would be lovely. Unfortunately for me it's a no no due to heart problems.

I think it's great you were open enough to let the intern in for the visit. You may have easily have made another ally.

Be well.....giving up smoking was hard for me but i knew i could do it and am glad i did!

Hugs,

Charlize

Thanks for sharing Lizzie, and may even more cleavage be in your future :)

Getting a boob job is a real good excuse to quit smoking once and for all ? Just think of the money you could save that way ? When I quit almost 20 years ago, a pack of Marlboro reds were approaching 2 bucks, I look now days, and wow....

Best

Congratulations - I got implants when I had my confirmation surgery for a one stop procedure. I was very happy that Dr. McGinn really consulted me on my goals (B Cup) and sized me appropriately. I am athletic and just wanted to fill out tops but not be a pain running or playing tennis. Low profile 400's were picked for me and they are perfect. Mine are under the muscle and never were a problem at all. I am at 12 weeks now and they are dropping nicely into their pockets and no longer are round orbs.

It is so nice being able to fill out a bikini top or even wear fashions that are best braless. Good luck, keep us posted, I hope everything goes well!

Yeah.  I like Nebula, that was where I watched it.   I posted the YouTube cause I figured more people could see it.

We agree on most of this... and the church/state thing is kind of a tangent anyways. Oops. LOL   I think it has long been established that all different kinds of groups have access to public funds. In my opinion, either everybody has access or nobody does. I would prefer "nobody."   Relying on public funds gives the government the power to take it away, and puts that power in the hands of whatever group controls the government at the moment... the news article that is the topic of this thread shows a clear example of that happening.  Organizations trust government at their peril.

More info on Abigail Thorne here: https://go.nebula.tv/philosophytube and, Dracula's ex-girlfriend, on Philosophy tube.   "The reason why Nebula is so cheap for what it is, is because there's no upper hierarchical group looking yo skim off the top. Imagine how much cheaper EVERYTHING could be if it was like that for every other service or product; if the money went straight to workers, not up a chain of command until it reached someone who did exactly "jack" to produce what's being sold.

I'm aware that the young US ended up fighting a war with these people, and that phrase was not meant to address Church & state.  But somebody was willing to include it at the time.   I am also aware that your family arrangements would not go over well with most christian nationalists.  But that is kinda where I'm coming from on this.  I believe you and others of us with an unconventional lifestyle should be free to live as we desire - as long as we are not hurting anyone else.  And by "hurting" I don't mean only their feelings.   Using christianity to justify oppression is just wrong.  As is forced conversion, or forced conversion therapy.   Regarding public funds, LGBTQetc people have as much right to them as straight-cis folks.  I'm not arguing that queer people have more rights, just equal rights.

Even better news:  It turns out for my sister it was cardio not stroke. She’s put on new blood thinner and sent home. False alarm! Yay.

Things have changed since I've been on HRT for about 15 years. The consequence is I am not so concerned about how I present all the time.  I wear t-shirts a lot. I am pragmatic in how I shop. No, I don't want to look male, but will buy some male clothing because it fits. I am tall and built like a football linebacker, so buying women's clothes that fit can be difficult. For one I have no problem buying men's sneakers if they can pass as unisex. I wear size 12-13 women's shoes. And that can be hard to find. And, I don't like wearing slacks without pockets. I use pockets for work.    I've learned to be pragmatic. I dress up when I want to go out in public, and not so much at work. I do have a favorite blouse that accentuates the girls. And one blue striped blouse where I wear a cami top.

https://www.patheos.com/blogs/danthropology/2016/05/secularists-please-stop-quoting-the-treaty-of-tripoli/   ^^^ an interesting piece about the treaty, written by an atheist.   I totally understand why the Christian nationalist stuff makes people uncomfortable. For me, it is uncomfortable in a different way, as modern Christian nationalism is not nearly as "generic" as the views of the Founders.  Its specifically Evangelical.  I'm in a plural marriage, so definitely not approved of.    I believe the intent of the Founders was to uhold generic Christian ideas... "in God we trust" and "there's a God who created the world and He wrote ten commandments for us" sort of stuff.  Nothing beyond that, nothing specific enough to use against folks.

Free?!?!  That's insane.  I can understand perhaps mistaking somebody's well equipped garage as a business, but demanding free work is ridiculous.   My GF once remarked that while few things in life are free, butt-kickings are an exception. She offers those free-of-charge, to any who ask. A little charity helps the world go round 🤣

I had a CDL when I was working for the city.  But I let it go when I retired.  I couldn't justify paying so much just to drive myself around.

While I'm sure the "Founders" had the 30 years war, etc. on their minds, they didn't write the constitution as considering only Christian sects. The early colonists (I used the word) did mostly come from areas of "christian culture" but it's hard to reconcile some of their actions with what Christ himself taught.   Christians have a right to their beliefs, but there are a lot of American citizens that do not consider themselves "christian."  I have seen writings where the US was specifically said not to be a "Christian Nation". "The 1797 Treaty of Tripoli that sought to secure America from attacks by the so-called Barbary pirates who were Muslim made a point to say that the United States "is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion.""    It shouldn't be difficult to understand why the "Christian Nationalist" movement makes some of us uncomfortable.

Hi everyone, I'm new here, but I hope it's OK to tell ou about my book. It's called Going Out, and it's by me, Nicola Atherton, and it's on Amazon. It's my first book, and I've had such good reviews of it, but I'd LOVE to know what people think of it here. Thanks!
