I guess i'll start wearing my political leanings out in public pretty soon. I got a supporter packet this morning just in time for the republican convention.

I hope we can get through all this democracy without hating or disrespecting each other. Of course i'm fully committed and have my reasons but i understand the rights of others to have their own views as wrong as i feel they are. It takes all types to make this world. It isn't up to me how the cookie breaks even though i get carried away at times. We think our world is terrible and out of control but a quick look at history both recent and ancient shows it has always been difficult. Promises that we can change that are only political rhetoric. We will continue on despite who is in control.

I'll put my sign up soon. It may help my candidate and i do hope she wins.

I'm with you in spirit Charlize,

However I don't dare display my political leaning here in my little corner of the world. They get a little nasty with you if you don't think like, believe like, live like, snd pray like they think you should, and they do not tolerate you being different.

So I shall keep my sentiments to myself, and hope my vote this Nov. goes to the Gal of my choice , that is if I'm not required to pay a pole tax in disguise.

I personally, despite having learned that I am transgender, will always have more conservative leanings, especially when people like Hillary can get away with things nobody else could. I respect and understand that people will vote for her because of whatever reasons, but I will say this. This election is complete crap. It is the fault of both sides/parties. Neither tried to work with each other and now look where we are, with candidates who have the lowest approval ratings in all of history. Too bad we can't go back to the days when Newt Gingrich was Speaker of the House, because he and this Democratic counterpart, whose name I can't remember, respected each other and were able to get along on at least some issues, where as now it never happens. We are more polarized than in the history of this great nation, and both sides are taking actions that will only serve to further this polarization. I just hope that our elected representatives will be able to look to the past for inspiration on how to work together, because otherwise, things will never get better, and it will be harder for people to live their lives in peace.

Sorry for the long rant/whatever, I get sort of emotional when it comes to this area of interest. I just hope that whatever happens, all opinions and points of view are taken into consideration when deciding the course that this nation takes for the next several years.

Hi Everyone,

A dual political party system is actually a good thing. Yes, it can be frustrating, even maddening when we hear two differing sides battling it out. If you favor one, of course you're going to think the other is wrong. That's ok. That's why we have the other, so that they all can think the one wrong.? It gives us a choice, and someone to hopefully go to bat for us when the opposite party goes against our wishes. We've already seen what happens in a one party system in the old Soviet Union, where nobody got a choice. I've already planted my flag for this November, as have some others. Where ever anyone chooses to plant there flag is thier choice, and thank goodness. When someone states that they support the opposite party as I support, that's ok. I am very glad and greatful that we all have the freedom to discuss and debate this. Not all people in the world do. While I may strongly dislike the Republican Party right now, that does not make a Republican supporter's opinions or feelings any less valid than my own. And the thought that politics were always more civil in the old days is not accurate. The Presidential election between Thomas Jefferson and John Adams was a real stinker, with horrible accusations being hurled both ways, for just one example.
