I'm just asking this because i would like to know in advance so when the time comes i know what to expect.

When on hrt. What the general size of breast growth? Someone told me it will between my sister and mom size. Well my sister is a A cup and my mom is a Large E cup. How i know this? I asked them. Because i would love to be atleast a D cup.. During the hrt treatment what's the normal growth?  Thanks..

The normal growth is whatever you have when you are on HRT.  The genetics of your family do play a part, and such things as body fat play a part in it as well.  A warning on the rule of smashed thumbs you have quoted above, is that you may end up with very dense breast tissue as a whole pile of Trans* women do. That can be a small problem if your family is prone to breast cancer since cancer is harder to detect in that tissue.

I have had two Trans* friends who have even gotten too much breast tissue and who looked strange, albeit female strange, but they ended up with breast reduction surgery for serious health reasons, and too much is not the same for every one.

I am a B cup, my mother was a double D, but she was severely obese from an alcohol problem.  One of my sisters was also a B cup, and the other used a B with added padding.

Not much help I suppose, but if the question is, "will my breasts look like female breasts?" the answer is MOST LIKELY.

My size is about a B and i add a bit with a small amount of padding in my bra to bring me closer to a C.  My breasts do look quite natural.

I guess the comment milage varies fits very well here.  Some folks opt for enhancement surgery but i'm content with the pert little beauties i've got.  Hope you enjoy yours as well.

I'm at a B, 8 at 8 months on HRT. I am hoping for a C or D. Nothing more than that though. Doesn't it take 3 years of HRT for the breasts stop growing?

My breasts look great!  I wear a 38-C bra without too much room to spare.  I have been on hormones for over two years now.  I stay athletic by riding a bicycle at work, but despite that I have developed nice curves.  I have absolutely no complaints on my development, but everyone is different.  :)

Stephanie

Likewise Ziva-I'd like to be a D. I love how I look when my bra and the rest of my clothes fit well. Always struggled with trying to get the right size. I haven't started hormones yet but something I'm dying to do. I just can't come out to my family-I'm planning to live on my own and transition then, but that could take many months.

I don't know what my bra size would be at the end, but based on females in my family I'm suspecting in the C or D range. I was somewhat reluctant to transition before but it seems the more I try to put it out of my mind, the more I come back to it-so I think it's just time to accept who I really am and go for it. But as mentioned it'll still take time...I have many adjustments to make in my life, before I could think about fully transitioning.

The chart in the WPATH Standards Of Care puts the average growth period in the 3 year time frame, but IRL, I have had friends who experienced growth even beyond that "limit", and one friend who had had implants before her GCS / Orchiectomy had a spurt afterwards and ended up having the implants removed since her breasts were causing back problems for her.  I was on HRT for 6+ years and experienced some growth after the 3 year window, and another thing that happened was that tissue that at first developed under my arm pit area has shifted toward the front of my body even recently.

Sandra, i also Tried to forget about it. But i always have the feeling that i was meant to be a female. I have come out to my mom. She is very supportive of me. Now I'm about to come out to my sister. Waiting to see how that goes. I'm currently waiting to see the dr and see if he can recommend me a specialist. I'll keep you posted! Much luck love Ziva

I've been on HRT nearly three years and mine are still growing. I had slow but steady growth for a year, almost no change for two years, then I've grown a cup size and a half in the past year. Everyone's bodies are different.

Not TG just a spouse here, but I would like to mention that growth must be accompanied by adequate protein intake -human cells are made of protein and that's why children have higher protein needs in nutrition than adults do. Also you will have nerve growth along with breast tissue growth and nerves are wrapped in myelin sheaths- which are mainly made of cholesterol and fat. Not saying you need to have a cholesterol number of 560 g/dl, just that you should maybe discuss with your doc if you are on cholesterol lowering drugs like niacin or statins. If you are only on a fiber drug, that won't decrease your levels to dangerously low.

Very good info Grandmotherbear, thanks.  Good nutrition, and adequate body fat help to grow breasts indeed.

I would add that if you are on a cholesterol lowering mediation (as i am) it is for a very good reason.  Having breasts is always better when you are alive. Heart disease is more dangerous than small breasts for many.  In this case it's definitely better to "feel marvelous than to look marvelous".

Sorry for the rant but having severe coronary disease makes me sensitive about this issue.

Thank you both.  I believe this is an important issue for all of us to consider.  When I started HRT I told my doctor that while I was impatient for change, maintaining my overall health was my primary goal.  If I don't live a long healthy life in order to enjoy the benefits, what is it all worth?
