I need help finding the right therapist

I have been immersed in both the pro and anti transgender sides of the internet for quite a while now, and while most every anti transgender argument has been well and thoroughly debunked, the idea of post transition regret is a real thing (though admittedly very rare). For quite a while now I have believed (and I still do) that I am transgender, my worry is, however that my feelings of dysphoria are driven by an underlying mental illness (as in the case of Walt Heyer), as opposed to feminine structures in my stria terminalis (which is believed to be the cause of transgenderism). I have scoured the internet in search of a therapist who can ensure that I do not have an underlying mental illness, and hopefully get me approval for HRT (which I desperately desire, I just don't want to regret it) with little luck. If you have any recommendations (ideally located in Bangkok, but anybody who does online therapy would also suffice) please tell me.

Gender therapists begin their careers as what I call "garden variety" counseling professionals in NON religious based settings.  They are licensed by your state Board Of Behavioral Health Examiners, or whatever it is called there in Washington and do begin by helping people with the more common behavioral health issues such as depressions, compulsive disorders, PTSD, marriage and family issues, and are even able to spot and refer those conditions that require medication to qualified M.D.s.  The "garden variety" therapist has simply gone on to gain experience in the field of Gender Dysphoria counseling as well as all the rest.  If the therapist works with the WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health ) Standards Of Care, they will attempt to help you find other problems of behavioral health that go along with GD as part of their overall care standards.

The big issue is that you be HONEST with the therapist from the beginning and include your concerns about other existing BH conditions.  This was the problem with a person whom you mention above.  There is ample evidence which I might add was brought out in several civil court cases that they hid this type of thing from all of their therapists, and thus what they call "regret" which is most often the result of  unreasonable expectations or flat out fantasies about what transitioning does.  In reality, transitioning does not "cure" anything.  I still have bad days even 3 years and 9 months post-op, but they are based on life of nearly 7 decades and things that will continue in my life until it ends or others die as well.  HRT can make some of our life more transparent to us, but its general benefit is to help us feel more open to ourselves and others over what we feel.  If it does not do that, then you were not the one it was for.

Nope.  I live in a rural area.  Pride events are for city folks.  The normally quiet LGBTQ+ club kind of changes atmosphere during that time, and things get a bit political.  As a non-Democrat, I avoid it.

For me, definitely the size thing.  I'm 5'4" on a good day, and 100lbs.  I can pass as a teenage boy, but never for my real mid-30s age.  And since my husband looks older than his age, I'm often assumed to be his kid.  Or folks think there's something illegal going on.      Also, my lack of the typical aggressive "masculine" demeanor.  I don't really desire the typical masculine social role, nor could I do it even if I tried really hard.  I'm usually quiet and kind of timid.

I am sorry for your struggles. I cannot empathize, but I can surely sympathize. I wish only the best for you!

My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.

This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

I can relate.  I have always played a female character when given the opportunity. Not really and reason except I just alway pick them since I was young

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.

Welcome to the party, M.A.     Sounds chaotic haha, I can confidently say that living with only two children the same age is stressful enough, much less three!
