What are best shoe insoles?

I am having a heck of a time finding the correct shoe insoles for my shoes. I usually wear flats and sometimes kitten heels, however I have to wear insoles to cushion my feet now, have developed mild nuropathy in my feet and even the most quality made shoes do not give me enough cushioning.  I will not resort to wearing clogs or dull looking shoes. I tend to dress classy everyday, dresses and skirts, sometimes pants or jeans, so it is either heels or dress flats.  Any suggestions on what are the best shoe inserts over the counter that will cushion the feet as well as keep them from sliding in your shoes?  I wear a size 12 in shoes.  I do not want anything bulky, because that will just cause my shoes to be very tight, which will cause other problems.  Currently I wear sandals, when it gets cold though, I will not be able to wear those. Even if I purchase boots, I will still need insoles.

Hi Sue, that's a tough one.  I found that everything I tried felt like a pebble under the ball of my foot.  I've done the gel thing, I've done the small pads up front with heels etc.. They all drove me nuts and like you said, they made whatever I was wearing feel too tight.  I even went with wides and everything still felt tight.  Might be something that would work for you though.  Perhaps a less expensive pair of flats (...which tend to kill my feet anyway) in wide width and one of the foam or gel pad inserts.

On the medical side, there are special padded shoes made for people with nuropathy in their feet.  BUT!  They are expensive and ugly.  Even the nicer ones are little on the clunky side, to me anyway.  And they're even more expensive.

Good luck!  All I can really recommend is to experiment but I know that gets tedious and expensive.

For my work boots (male mode) I get some foam insoles like dr schools they come in two thickness and cover the whole foot. I am still having difficulty finding dress shoes that fit me.

Hope you find something to help you.

keep smiling
