Mistaken For A Girl

Guest Soph

Recommended Posts

Before my therapy session started today I walked past two women in the hall talking. When I took a seat, one of the women walked over to me and asked if I was Nichole.

This is the first time in my transition (which I really just started) that I was mistaken for a girl. And the best part? I wasn't even trying! :D

I certainly hope this indicates that I will pass well.

YES!

you have experienced that really big 'passing' experience - that is, when you aren't trying.

It is where you really want to be.

Congradulations!

That felt great didn't it?

Hold on to that and if anyone is mean to you just pull up this memory and you'll feel great!

Love ya,

Sally

Soph!

Isn't that MOST incredible feeling in the world????

Especially when you aren't even trying....!

You'll need to keep that memory for a very long time!

Way to go , Girlfriend!

Good on you!

Congrats Soph! (big hugs!)

I mostly just wanted to say you were recognized as a girl rather than "mistaken for" one. :) It's very cool to finally be recognized and I'm so happy for yoU!

With much love,

Michelle

One time I was in Boston and had on my N.Y. Yankee hat I wanted to pass as a Red Sox fan so I switched to a BIG BLUE CAP With a RED "B "I passed as a Boston fan.... so far that is it for passing....just kidding! just kidding! thought a little humor wouldn't hurt..I mean the Sox have a ten game winning streak  and the Yanks all they have is a half empty billion dollar stadium and an aging Derek Jeter and a D.L. (that's disabled list) Alex Rodriguez and they called him Mr. April Oh where have you gone Joe DiMaggio..... B)

I'm not much of a sports fan, but I still find it bad that one team after another is going.

The Montreal Expos were sold a couple years back.

The Montreal was the site of Canada's Grand Prix, this is not the case anymore, the Gilles Villeneuve circuit is now more or less useless (to getting income from tourists anyways).

The Montreal Canadians are about to be auctioned off, they just might still stay in the city though.

There's the CFL team Alouettes that remains and they're pretty good, but they're much less popular than the hockey, baseball or F1-racing was here.

Gosh you guys are nice lol

And I guess finally "seen" as a girl is a bit more appropriate--maybe I'm still not accepting myself 100%, but I'm working on it.

Also, on an unrelated note, I read that you can do laser before electrolysis, but its best to have light skin and dark facial hair for laser. I've got the light skin, but my facial hair isn't black, its sort of medium brown. Is that dark enough? I'd provide a picture but I just shaved this morning.

Thanks Davie! And don’t worry, I didn’t take it that way. It’s just such a big topic I can only hope to tackle it one bit at a time.

This is not uncommon.  I started out going to the therapist in androgynous clothing: from the women's department, but plausibly masculine.  What made it easier was when I started going to a trans peer support group.  Most of the people there were presenting fully feminine, so I looked out of place in my androgynous clothing.  The peer pressure made it easier to dress in skirts.   I started out changing in a gender-neutral bathroom near the meeting room.  But I soon started wearing skirts in the car to and from the meetings.   Yes, it was nerve-wracking at first, but I soon realized that no one was looking and no one cared.    You can do this.

In my last session my therapist is starting to suggest that I need to start exploring my gender identity in a more tangible way through wearing feminine clothing at least during sessions.  I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around her seeing me actually en femme.   I love and trust her, but the thought of being visibly feminine is scaring (and thrilling) me.  Is this a common thing in gender therapy?  How do I get past the fear?  More importantly, what should I wear?

USA doctors denounce Cass Report, support trans folks.  The Endocrine Society And American Academy Of Pediatrics Respond To Cass, Reject Bans. In recent weeks, the Cass Review out of the United Kingdom has been used to argue for bans on care. I felt the urge to date and felt just like a teenager again. I have recorded my journal titled Ashley's Life From Start to Present. I was very moody and agitated and happy. I think it was my body's way of being in shock. After about two months it got better. Remember that you aren't the only one transitioning because your wife is too. Consider yourself lucky because I lost mine because of it and so have many others. Just enjoy the ride.

I'm sorry for asking so many questions about your situation. I'm in your camp and believe you should be able to be whoever you feel you need to be. I guess it the Union Shop Stewart coming out in me. I want you to be treated fairly as well as respectably. You're human, you're a client of theirs. Especially if you're paying money to be there.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Views, terminology, and aspects of how events came to be....aren't those directly related to the news item?  If not, I'm rather confused.
