Internal Debate Over How to Proceed With LGBT Legislation Gets Heated

My FB news feed is blowing up with this one.  I find some of their time projections to be a little bit odd, and the involvement with the single funding source has my eyes rolling a bit.  This is one where I do not see the situation as dark or dramatic as this article  portrays, and the fractures are probably not as disastrous as this would have have us believe.  In this one I think the messenger at least needs to shot at to get their attention back on their real business.

I think the basis of the discord is that postmodern queer theory and gender politics have arbitrarily decreed that a woman is anyone who identifies as a woman – end of discussion. Even thinking about asking a question is transphobic and bigoted. Now imagine that this circular logic forms the basis of gender identity laws in many countries, starting from the UN and trickling down, and you’ll be describing a reality that few know exists. Women and girls are being ordered to be silent, nurturing, and to surrender their boundaries. This is not acceptable to most women, especially those that do not subscribe to postmodern queer theory which, I would argue, constitute the vast majority of women, both lesbian and straight.

How to break the logjam? Some LGBT leaders say it’s time to support bills that cover housing and employment, but not public accommodations — and largely avoid the bathroom issue.

Wow, it's really difficult so we move on? Hmmmmmm........

To point out the general view in the UK and dislodge the 'sticky wicket' - It's all down to rights and equality. Most (I must admit not all) issues are sorted very quickly by 'anti discrimination' legislation and few people here are deliberatly looking for kudos by picking on such a risky bet.

Hi ,

Some of this sounds like its out side the boundary, or it,s gone for 6,

Well I hear about all this scrapping going on (  and im just glad im a female,,, )  yet not so much here in NZ  though there maybe some , though all of this is impacting on us females ,  why should this be , all I see is we are losing what little we have left  our women in the 1890,s to 1920,s took the men on and said enough is enough  time we had a say in  ....WHAT....WE  need in stead of being told to be quiet  and go back to where we were in the 1890s  all of this is just getting out of hand as I see  and I know other females do as well,,

If this is  about rights,,  for who ..... I don't see females included or young women ,

Sign of the times ...I wonder what ...THE....real issue is.
