I just thought some of you might find this interesting It's a summary of submisions from the transgender national inquiry held by the Human Rights Comission here in Aotearoa-NZ...Jack hope to have the full report finish by the end of this month or early October.

Thanks for posting that, long! I was looking for the synopsis, . I'll say it again, why not in Canada can something like this happen as well.

Jenny, When I think of it NZ's blessed...we have a female prime minister many women hold high positions in our government, we also have a number of rainbow politicians-gay and lesbian..And to top this all off the world's first Major and transsexual politician 'Georgina Beyer' has just stepped down from her position in the government. There are still pockets of NZ society who live in the 'dark ages' but they can't hold out for much longer.

A synoposis on the inquiry...which was the first national inquiry of its kind in the world... looked into the health concerns ie, hormone therapy-counseling-psyche assessments and the need for more gender identity clinics to be set up and the discrimination faced by some transgender people living in NZ. It also took into account the more positive experiences had by many. And now the findings are going to be presented to the government who hopefully will take some of the recommendations on board. Remember NZ compared to most countries is tiny we have a population of only four and a half million people...and hell of a lot more sheep than people !

Thanks for that, and I don't want to know about the sheep, they're cute toys that's it. I want to spout out sheep jokes but I am holding my tongue, poor animals!

What about possums ? We got over seventy million and counting... That reminds me we have also got one of the worse wasp problems too...no natural predators ! But hey...they have got to breed somewhere and NZ's such a friendly country.

I have never heard any stories of possums anyway. Only sheep and the Scottish, and I apologize to anyone who is Scottish!
