Wow, what a tragic messed up situation. I feel bad for all involved.

Lots of love,

Timber Wolf?

I saw this story on a local tv show.  He is doing great but he is also making folks think about how to relate differently to an issue they have only seen in a superficial way.

I saw one story of a FTM swimmer who was finally allowed to swim with the men after dominating her competition in the female league.  She was happy to simply race even though not winning or placing constantly.

It also shows the rediculousness of the bathroom bills. As he would be forced into the girls locker room and bathroom.

I'm curious what the true motives of forcing this young man to wrestler based on "birth gender" are. While the general homophobia that lead to matters such as the bathroom bill is an easy pinpoint to why Mack has been forced to wrestle girls, but I wouldn't be surprised if some sexist jerks who make the higher up decisions aren't forcing the matter in order to avoid the potential embarrassments to the cis-male wrestlers who might end up losing "to a girl."

I certainly understand the disappointment and heartbreak that Mack must be feeling, as well as the feelings of the girls who have been losing to him, who likely feel as they've been cheated by being forced to wrestle someone who is likely much stronger then them for the simple reason of being on testosterone.

n the article i saw it mentioned that when he won he took the looser by the hand and helped her to the top podium with him.  He sounded like a great kid.

I'm certain that he doesn't want to hurt them, but he's being placed in a tough situation. :(

What saddens me most is all the hateful comments by the ignorant, homophobic idiots on this website.

This young gentleman did win, I had a few friends that went to support him. The sad thing is the amount of hate in the comments when he's only doing what the state of Texas will allow. He wants to wrestle other boys, but Texas says no. No people complain about the testosterone (which I admit isn't the fairest thing), but don't they think that if that was against the rules he would have been disqualified long ago.

This young man made the best of a very bad situation that other people created.

This is not helpful to anyone as he is not a girl!

I can see it raising other issues outside of the gender field though as, are the Olympic rules the same? Some people stop at nothing to gain an advantage. How long before a team of superwomen! Some countries would stop at nothing. Maybe this is old as I do remember gender issues being mentioned from time to time with the Olympics.

The Olympics allow trans* people to compete as the gender they identify with as long as the blood work shows that you have been on HRT and your hormone levels are consistent with those cis-gender of the same for at least 6 months if I remember correctly.

That is so totally unfair to the girls participating. There's no way they can compete with someone on T. Ugh!

This was a wonderful piece by the sportscaster.  I sent this story to my mother (my biggest supporter) and told her despite the president's actions and those of a few states, this kind vocal support demonstrates that we will prevail.  We are winning today and will continue until this insanity stops.
