Hello everyone! ^^

Ive been amidst a gender crisis for some time and to find this hub for those between and moving on the gender spectrum has been a godsend. Being here only a short time Ive already made a little progress in finding myself. Ive always been a very tolerant person and the more my life went on the more I felt I was tolerateing being male. My boss could have me work 14 hours without a break and I would just accept it... Its about time I take charge of my gender amongst many other things in my life. Im hoping here I can get a decent grasp of my gender identity and find strength to execute the necessary lifestyle changes. The concept of becoming a minority has been keeping me at bay but I need to start doing what makes me happy.

Hi Mia and welcome to Laura's!

Probably the first step is seeing a gender therapist to help you sort through your feelings. For myself, this was very helpful when at your stage of things. Other things I did such as under dressing, and working on presenting female and gauging how I honestly felt about it. I would not have been happy as a cross dresser or genderfluid. I realized for me going back and forth was not who I was, and as time went on this got more painful.

Mia the beauty you see in this place is because it reflects you.  I came here uncertain and confused about my gender issues but as i found acceptance.   i found a beauty as well.  It is something i hadn't seen before.  Today my mirror is a place to preen a bit and make things better but even before i "pretty up" i've found peace with my reflection as i never have before. Doubts, frustration, fear and shame poke their heads out on occasion but quickly fade when i remember what it was like at the beginning.  

Sure i lost that white male privilege but so what.  I'm a happy member of the human race and i don't have to be at the "top" of the pile.  I like my perspective now.

We help each other here by simply being ourselves.   Glad you've joined us.
