Yea!!! One of my colleagues represents my organization at AMA. I am going to forward it to him, to see if he has anything to add. From what I understand, getting things done takes time because of the many voices that need to be heard. And to say thank you!!

From what he said, there was good supportive discussion at the reference committee on related set of resolutions. It was then recommended by Referral Committee for approval by Full House.  There were no disputes on substance at either Referral Committee or Full House.  He's going to send me some of the materials that they used during the discussions.

My colleague gave me a copy of the resolutions, I am shortening them a bit to just briefly describe them:

1. Education of medical providers on the medical spectrum of gender identity as a complex interplay of gene expressions and biological development.

2. Document patient's biological sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, preferred pronouns, surrogate identifications in medical documentation in a culturally sensitive manner.

3. Access to basic human services and public facilities in line with one's gender identity, including, but not limited to restrooms.

4. They will not host events at venues or localities that discriminate based on gender identity.

5. Expand demographic data collected on patients to include gender identity an sexual orientation.

BTW-He also told me they aren't the final versions, these still need to go to the full house for approval or amendment. But more than likely will be approved without an amendment.
