Celebrating 1st month on HRT

I have just realized, it is already 1 month today since I started taking the medications! I feel so controversial about myself, being in the in-between state...At work, I look more female than male, while at home, I look more male than female. well, even that is a little bit too much for my wife already, and we have major conflicts including my sister and my parents too. Very stressful.

One of my  male co-worker generously prepared a tea for me and emphasized that he gives to me in a pink cup, suspicious, isn't it?

My breast started to soar a little bit, and it always look different. Some days, I saw some development, the other day seems like nothing happened at all. But it feels fuller, and I start to look awesome (no, I am not vain at all ;)  ). If somehow I could take care of my voice change, the stage 2-3-kinda hair loss, and finally re-start electrolysis, I think I will pass easily. Well, these are all big issues to overcome though...anybody knows where to download or view REAL voice lesson videos, that actually helpful, and hopefully free?

But anyways: I Celebrate 1 Month!

Yes I also found that my emotions were a bit raw and easily provoked when I started but eventually they do even out to a manageable level.

Keep going - the in-between state can be pretty difficult.   It will smooth out eventually.  Hopefully you can begin to focus on relationships with your wife, sister, and family.

Yes, relationship issues are a struggle for me....as probably for most of us. It seems to me that nobody cares, nobody wants to listen. Only one point of view is valid: and thats not mine...why there is no understanding, and no acceptance? It is very hard....

For my cell phone I downloaded Eva Pitch version 4.  Everyone on the Transgender Facebook groups is telling me it's the cat's meow.  I haven't really played with it yet.  I also found that my insurance company clumps voice training in with physical therapy (I think it was like physical, speech, and 1 other kind).  So it's $15 co-pay.  I found a speech therapist that does it online so I can just skype video with her.  She takes Blue Cross Blue Shield.   I was told she was the best in NY by the ladies at my monthly Trans Support Group.  Here is her info (she is Trans too which it makes that much better):

Kymmie, it's hard to think of her as an ally when she's still re-posting anti-trans information. On the flip side my wife is supportive of everyone else in the LGBTQIA community, and reluctantly supporting me.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

OMG @Lorelei! I hope you have some time today to do something kind for yourself! That sounds so stressful.    -Timi

I'm sorry you and so many others in the military, were assaulted and bullied, just for being who you are. I'm glad that you've seen your old therapist and seem to be better since 2001.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

@Sally Stone This is a great thread and resonates with me as well. Please keep it going!   +1 on leg hair. Mine basically stopped growing on its own in my early 30s (cause unknown), but I prefer the look. Was never comfortable with body hair.

One FB post from an old friend who lives 250 miles away and has no idea of any of this, and a news article this morning about someone with multiple mental problems  assert that transgender people are controlled by demons.   Me not happy.  Can't reason with some people.

Just really started reading this thread today and it is fascinating. Thank you for sharing @Sally Stone... I started shaving my legs (and chest and arms) about eight years ago when I was living apart from my wife. I decided then that there was no going back - I just love smooth skin and really hate hate hate body hair (I have quite a bit -- "Hey, nice sweater" people would say when I took my shirt OFF).   My wife is not thrilled but I think in time it just fades into the background and folks don't give it a second thought after the novelty of noticing it. And if they do harp on it, it's like why does it matter so much to you what my legs look like?  I am kind of here too -- I want to express myself more and more outwardly in a feminine way. But I don't hate everything about being a guy. I would probably go 100 percent female dress if society were more accepting of that (and family)...

I was stuck behind a truck for like 6 miles doing 30 in a 45mph zone and when I got the opportunity to pass it I took it. Sped up and passed it and then noticed the flashing lights behind me… I just got my first tickets (other than parking tickets) in the 26 years that I have been driving. The speed limit changed in that area and it was a long downhill grade so apparently I was going 60 in a 40 zone. I was so nervous that I was shaking. Speeding and no registration (it is fully registered and insured but I couldn’t find the registration card). It was still affirming though in that I used my license showing my name to be Lorelei and got “maam’ed” by the cop. He was very professional and told me to plead not guilty and that he would reduce the charges if I came to court. Hopefully he will reduce the ticket to something that doesn’t give points. He told me that I should have given him my PBA card (a friend of mine’s husband is a cop had given it to me) with my license, not after the ticket is already written. The registration ticket will go away once I provide proof that it is registered.  I already ordered the replacement registration from NYS DMV online. Unfortunately the registration is still registered to my deadname of Rory so I will have to bring that up to the judge unless I can get to DMV first to change it first. Overall, this morning sucked.
