I'm not entirely sure what to say in this, but I'm aware that this is supposed to be an introduction. Well, I joined TransPulse not too long ago. Two days ago, in fact. I made an account because I wanted to talk about things with people who had a grasp of what I was saying, but I'm not very good at getting involved to begin with. And, to best this weakness of mine,  I've decided to do an introduction! Yes. That is indeed what I'm doing.

About me... I collect dictionaries? Words are fun. As are collections. I recommend Brewer's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable. Centenary edition. It was fun to read that one, and the extensive coverage of various creatures of myth and lore as well as simple phrases we hear every so often was quite enlightening. Aside from that, I've been watching anime and reading manga for several years at this point. It is an enjoyable hobby, to be sure, Gaming is also something I do. Big fan of essentially everything that has a good story. Strategy games can be incredibly fun. I like retrowave music, but genre doesn't much matter in that area. I'll listen to anything that sounds good. My favorite number is 3, my favorite color is brown, and so on and so forth.

I believe that will suffice as an introduction. I really just jumped around to things that apply to me. There wasn't anything in particular that these were supposed to cover, was there? Nor were they to be a certain length? Well, regardless, I'll still be leaving it at that. Good night. Or good morning. In any case, hello.

Welcome to Transpulse! No introduction is to short or too long. THey are always just right. Anyway, I am a fan of Anime too. Some of my favorites are Black Butler and Fairy Tail.

Hugs,

Marcie

Welcome Ampersand.  I'm glad you've joined us and posted an introduction.  I also enjoy words although my dictionary collection is limited to a huge old dictionary that sits on my grandparents library stand next to the kitchen. Enjoy your time here as you hopefully discover somethings about your self.  I certainly have grown in understanding as i've posted and read the posts of others.

Hugs,

Charlize

Hi Ampersand!

I'm a table top gamer, you know, old school AD&D kind of stuff! I've watched some anime, but never really got into it much. I am a fan of Asian cultures though. One of my favorite table top games takes place in a fictional Asian setting! And, as a coincidence, my favorite number is 3 as well! It's a very auspicious number in my religion!

Oh, and welcome to TransPulse! Nice to meet you!

Love and Light!

Hello Ampersand

Greeting from another word geek. I don't collect dictionaries per se but I have been reading them for fun since 3rd grade. And I have long been fascinated by etymology. The Internet has been a godsend since it was hard to find much sometimes way back when. I'll have to look up the book you recommend.

I used to game before transition but never seem to have time now. I prefer RPG on Playstation and PC. Mostly stuff like Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and Oblivion

My granddaughter draws manga and is into anime and manga. I'm an artist but the last few years have been mostly doing stage design and painting for a community theater. I also direct and do props - I'm sort of permanent creative director.

Please feel free to ask questions and post as much as you like. We are a diverse group and happy to help or just listen.

Johnny

I am an evangelical  I am also transgender.  This is an issue. I have read up on it.  I am not an expert, but I have done a lot of reading.   One thing I do not get about people who take that position is that evangelicals are all about salvation by faith alone by Christ alone by grace alone - unless you are transgender.  Then you cannot be saved, these say, unless you do the work of un-transgendering yourself.  Which is, practically, impossible.  I have read the "solutions" and I don't buy them, obviously, because they do not work.    In evangelicalism salvation is by faith alone, Christ alone, grace alone, without any merit of our own.  That means, to an evangelical, we come to Christ as we are,  in the words of a glorious hymn,   1 Just as I am, without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me, and that thou bidd'st me come to thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   2 Just as I am, and waiting not to rid my soul of one dark blot, to thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   3 Just as I am, though tossed about with many a conflict, many a doubt, fightings and fears within, without, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   4 Just as I am, thou wilt receive, wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve; because thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   We do not clean ourselves up BEFORE we come to Christ.  We let Him clean us up AFTER we come to Him.    Those who insist that transgender people cannot be saved are actually preaching another Gospel, a Gospel of works, and have wandered away from the glorious Gospel into works.  That is strong but true.   Struggling with legalism and grace, I have found more of God's mercy and grace available to me because I struggle with being transgender and seeking His resolution of it.  Which, not having the struggle, I would not have needed to seek Him earnestly on this.

Eventually, (especially if you start T,) things will even out. The excitement you feel is from everything being so new. Finally knowing yourself and having others recognise you can be thrilling. However, because it is your natural state of being, eventually that wears off. There's nothing exciting about it anymore because it's "just you." (Which is a perfect thing to be!) This, however, can lead to disappointment. Trust me when I say however, that that disappointment and jarring reaction to wrong pronouns will go away, and you'll once again feel comfortable in yourself.

I love long hair. I'm wanting my hair to touch the floor. I guess we shall see how long it can get.

I wear a wig most of the time.  But I can get by with my natural (shoulder length) hair if I wear a hat or something to cover the mostly empty top. Unfortunately that train has left the station, sigh.

Normal is a word in the dictionary and a setting on washing machine.

Oddly enough, just this weekend I read some of my poetry at a local event.  In this case it was a Pride group so I didn't have a particular advantage.  But I have read in more inclusive (of cis people) situations, and been fairly well received.  Let's face it, cis people do deserve an equal chance.   I suppose this might be a problem in the future.
    • Ivy
Of course we do.  The few friends I do have are almost exclusively cis or trans women. I think I could have a relationship with a man, but he would be kinda "other" to me.  Could be interesting though. I never have understood guys - even when I was trying to be one.
