I have wanted to MtF transgender for so many many years now.. but I couldn't do really it because life issues with relationships and marriage came up and I shelved my journey for so many years.. but I have talked with my wife quite a lot about it lately, and she understands and has given her blessing to get started on my MtF journey. I have sadly denied my true self for so much of my life, but I really would love to be all I can be starting now 1f642.png what sort of things would I have to look out for and what should I expect while I am transitioning? I know I have to go see a psych soon so I can start on HRT. I am not so worried about my family.. but more about my wife's. even though she has openly supported me and my desire to transition I am concerned her family may not be as understanding.. to be honest I am scared of transitioning alone.. but of cause I look to the bright future of being Sarah.. I picked that name many years ago right at the start 1f642.png I can't wait to get started being more feminine and start feeling more like Sarah, it's something I have been wanting for so long. So any advice from you lovely and amazing people would be loved and appreciated 2764.png❤️ I live in Australia, so I am also a bit worried about the same sex laws, especially since same sex couples can not get married yet

Welcome Sarah.  We have had several married members here from Australia so while it may be awkward it is possible. 

I've had support from my wife as well but regardless this isn't an easy journey.  That being said i wouldn't have missed it.

Hi Sara! Welcome to Transpulse, and I know of many other success stories. Mine not being among them. Best advice I got was to be honest with yourself, and take as much time as you need.

Hello Sarah.

Welcome on board and have a nice journey. You've made the right decision, congratulations.

Same sex wedding is also banned in my country. But transitioning allow us to circumvent the regulations, wedding stays valid in that case, it's the only situation where same sex wedding is possible. I hope it's the same in yours.

Hi Sarah another aussie girl here, married as well so understand some of the issues you face. I have all my documents in line all female, you can get a female passport and that is the big one, in SA only you can now change your birth cert gender without having to divorce. Effectively making same sex marriage allowable:applause:

      Nope.  I live in a rural area.  Pride events are for city folks.  The normally quiet LGBTQ+ club kind of changes atmosphere during that time, and things get a bit political.  As a non-Democrat, I avoid it.

      For me, definitely the size thing.  I'm 5'4" on a good day, and 100lbs.  I can pass as a teenage boy, but never for my real mid-30s age.  And since my husband looks older than his age, I'm often assumed to be his kid.  Or folks think there's something illegal going on.      Also, my lack of the typical aggressive "masculine" demeanor.  I don't really desire the typical masculine social role, nor could I do it even if I tried really hard.  I'm usually quiet and kind of timid.

      My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

      From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.

      I can relate.  I have always played a female character when given the opportunity. Not really and reason except I just alway pick them since I was young

      Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

      Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.
