Great news but I wonder why the projected annual loss?  Is it taking OR time from other more profitable surgeries?  That the CEO is looking at this as expanding care to an existing population tells me they must have a fairly robust gender program, and he knows who their patients (customers) are.  Great.

I agree that the 50K loss is a puzzle on this one, but if it is only that program, that amount is really small change.  I had to pay for all of my own GCS since it was a year before my HMO covered it, and there, I paid the hospital itself 11K.  The hospital I was in does 12+ GCS surgeries per month and at last I knew they were far from broke.  I am wondering if the loss thing was related to the 80 negative responses the hospital board got.

2 per month might be where the loss comes from--but I think they under estimate the demand.. Did I miss who the surgeon is?
