What do your critters do that you find endearing, adorable, frustrating, or unexplainable?

I'm prompted to ask because I'm sick for the second time in two weeks now.  Both my dog and my cat have been taking care of me.  Hashbrown (ginger tabby, will be 15 in January) tucks me into bed every time I lie down and won't stay off my lap when I'm sitting up.  Whenever he wanders off to attend to his cat business, Cami (yellow lab, just turned five in August) takes her turn.  This morning she pinned me down on the couch for snuggles and wouldn't let me up.  I don't know what I'd do without four-foots taking such good care of me.

We can set our clock by Hashbrown.  He gets crunchy treats at exactly 10PM every night, and if they don't materialize, you'd better believe we hear about it.

Cami has playtime at the park every day, swimming in the river when it's warm enough, and has to have snuggles after she gets home or she won't settle down and gives us fits about eating her dinner.  If I'm not there petting her until she falls asleep after park time, she's a handful later.

No pets!  Have had cats and rabbits in the past.  I don't want to be tied down with the care and feeding they require, and attention they desire.  I do like cats though. :) Dogs not so much.:(

What a gorgeous bird!  I've considered getting one a few times, but I just don't know if I could commit to the lifespan.  Plus I get migraines that come with extreme sensitivity to sound, and I have a feeling hearing a bird being social when I'm in that kind of pain wouldn't be a good mix.

I love my little cat Gizmo! She'll climb on my lap and put her head on my chest. She's the sweetest girl and as cute as can be.

Lots of love,

Timber Wolf?

No domestic pets these days, although I do love dogs.

I love the natural world so I feel affectionate to most animals..

There is a spider in my water butt that I have been calling my pet all summer. I noticed her there in the spring, and I always say hello, and warn her when I am about to lift the lid. I am not sure how long they live, but will miss her when she is gone

We have a cat Max who is 20 years old and having a bit of trouble getting around.  I know how he feels!.  The other animals we share a life with are "working".  There is Zelda (a Labrador), my wife's service dog.  She is amazingly well trained.  Wy wife can't drop anything and not get it given back to her.  Casper is the livestock guardian dog.  He weights 130+ lbs and lives with the goats.  Fortunately he does like people ....unless they mess with his goats.  Then there are the goats.  We have 24 at this point.  After a hard frost some of the young males will be off to the butcher.  The does have all been breed and we should see kids starting around Christmas.  It certainly would be easier to adopt a spider Tracy but i love the life i have and have a few webs in the barn as well.

Hugs,

Charlize

No pets. My husband is allergic to everything with fur or feathers, pretty much. We might eventually get a dog if we live in a place with no wall to wall carpeting in the common spaces.

I'll tolerate a dog, but I'm really a cat person. I'll probably go out and adopt a kitten when DH dies, possibly before the ink is dry on the death certificate. I had a cat before we married. It died in a garage door accident while staying with my mom when I got shipped overseas (when I got the cat I was facing a medical discharge...then I wasn't discharged and had to foster him out).

When I was much younger I was given a parakeet (an Australian shell parakeet, or budgerigar) by an Aunt.  I'm not sure what my parents thought but I had Budgies for quite some time afterwards.  We were living in the southern US at the time and now that I'm in the Northern climate and keep my house cool I'm not sure it's would be feasible.  I do have fond memories of having birds.  They seem to have such interesting personalities.

Our last cat was 27 when she passed.  My wife has a cat now who is such a lover but I don't interact with her much except when I'm at the condo.  Interesting that yellow cats seem to be more friendly and loving than grey ones, which seem to be more aloof.  My mother pointed this out years ago and it seems to be true from our experience.

I've been thinking it is a matter of belief.  They simply do not believe someone can validly be transgender and should not be allowed to practice their beliefs, but should be forced to practice their belief, that is, that there is no such thing as transgender and it is all mental illness/sin/hormonal imbalance.

I am really kind of sick of everybody who is not transgender deciding on what we need and do not need in the way of procedures. They act like all of this is play acting, and we can just apply cosmetics to our entire body. It might be refreshing if someone asked us directly what services we need in order to transition. I could say more as I am frustrated, but I do not want to violate the TOS.

Good luck on selling your wife on the idea of a different car. This could be tougher than negotiating with a dealership.   My wife agreed to my taking profit out of the company to buy a used truck once we found out the 2014 F-250 I currently had with 267,244 miles on it was needing new torque converter solenoids and the DEF system is chocking up. We bought a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, Duramax 4X4, with 163,000 miles. LTZ Off Road package, power mirrors, chrome step boards, rear camera, exhaust brake, and air lift bags on the rear suspension. It belonged to a friend of mine who also owned a mobile training business.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

At the other end and in our favor is Julia Serano's analysis of the Cass Report Fiasco   https://juliaserano.medium.com/the-cass-review-wpath-files-and-the-perpetual-debate-over-gender-affirming-care-8f56d0c4d0c6   Serano is a Trans Woman and a molecular biologist herself, guess whose evaluation I honor.

That's great @MaeBe hopefully the company will offer your wife a moving package with the new job position. That's how I was transferred from the St. Louis Metro area to the Indianapolis Metro area. The company covered all the moving expenses, as well as a three week stay in an extended living hotel while we chose an area to build our current home.   Good Luck and make it a happy adventure.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

@Birdie is the day care in charge of your MyChart, Hospital, and Doctors as to how you are cared for? There has to be some way to prove that you were born intersex and have a choice on your chosen pronouns. I wish we could do more for you. Keep pushing forward.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

That's nice. I have bought all my stuff through Best Buy because I love the customer service.
