I started HRT five years ago.  I had gotten my blocker and E just as Hurricane Sandy hit NJ.  Taking my first medication by candle light as the storm hole outside i wondered if it would always be as exciting.  Well no it isn't, thank heaven.  I've settled into simply being me.  Life is no longer a storm of emotions, fear, guilt, desire and anticipation.  The storm has passed and there is peace.  If your just starting hang on tight.  At first we need a seatbelt but the road gets better!

Charlize, Thanks for this nice remembrance.  Just like in nature, our personal storms do subside, especially when we take shelter from the storm!

Charlize thank you for your post I have been on hormones for 4 1/2 months now while the weather is quiet the storm inside is raging it is good to hear things calm down

Mar Mary i think it probably varies for everybody but i have slowly simply found myself accepting life as it is.  Maybe transition has done this or it may simply be the slow onslaught of old age and senility.  I can still feel hurt at times due to my gender but i'm no longer as obsessed as i once was.  Time has been kind.  Hopefully you will find that as well.
