happened last night, and the video was shown.  The food and company were wonderful although I noted that the table I was at were all LGBT folks.  Perfectly fine in many ways, and people at other tables stopped by for talk, hugs and the like.

 

My only problem came was when the video was actually  being shown.  The sound system was less than great, and I could not even hear myself due to what it did.  During the time I was on screen, people were reaching out touching me and mini-hugging, so what ever it was they showed must have been touching them, but it is only in bits and pieces that I have figured out what parts of my interview were up on the screen, although people in the other parts of the room did hear it better and tell me they enjoyed it very much.  I went up to say farewell to our Bishop and he told me how he was touched by it, I just wish I could have heard it.  SIGH!!

This is a sad but true situation many who otherwise would go to church find themselves in.  Thankfully there are congregations that are open and affirming.  One just has to seek them out.

@MaryMary  I am a member of the Episcopal Church here in Los Angeles CA. but we are part of the nationwide Protestant Episcopal Church of the United States.    I do know that you have the same basic denomination up there in Canada, (I believe it is the Anglican Church up there) and that most of its Parishes are welcoming and affirming of LGBT people.
