Hello everybody!

I signed up today. So I decided to write an introductory message, as a reminder of WHEN I signed up.

I am MTF like most people here.

I've been on HRT close to a decade now.

I have done the legal name change. This includes birth certificate, ID, drivers license.

My parents don't accept me as female, as well as most of my siblings.

I've had some surgeries. Not all I want or need, because of lack of financial means, but most of what I needed.

I've practiced voice for years and years, so I think I do barely okay now.

My main interest for joining here is talking to others, via Skype, Whatsapp or whatever. Just to shoot the breeze and maybe exchange voice tips or even singing tips, if you like to "try to" sing too.

I've been presenting as female IDK for a bit more than two years now. Compared to most others, it took me an eternity to start presenting as female.

I am extremely shy and not a people person, I admit it. But I also have lots of free time to talk or chat about whatever.

I am a liberal mostly. And as open-minded as can be.

I have a BF. So I am looking for friendship, and most of all, changing info, tips about anything.

Sorry if I sound like a robot lol  But I think writing paragraph by paragraph makes things easier to read. Doesn't it?

I am a white Caucasian person who speaks fluently both English and Spanish, both of them with a slight accent I guess, because I live part time in the US and part time in Latin America since my mother is from there.

I like playing rhythm guitar, used to play drums, try to sing but suck at it lol

I like watching funny tv shows, like CYE, American Dad, and some oldies like Dr. Katz. I mean any show  where being "politically correct" is not exactly their philosophy, and specially, shows where there's no laugh tracks.

Maybe I've said too much in my robotic writing pattern lol.

Hugz to everyone

Green-Eyed Pam

P.S. Attached is a very good pic of me. Live, I may look worse lol

Sorry in my previous post I wrote "changing info" but I meant "exchanging info." Since I didn't find an edit option, I decided to post a reply to correct this.

Hi Pam and welcome!   First let me say you look great.

If you've read any other introductory posts I believe you will find this to be a common denominator amongst the community since we have often lived hiding our true selves.

I'm sorry to hear that your family is not on your side.  Unfortunately that is one of the costs of transitioning.  But it sounds like you're doing fine.  You will find many open minded liberal types here although there are open mind conservatives too.

You say you live part time in Latin America where your mother lives.  But you must not live with her when there if she does not accept who you are.  Anyway, thats great that you can travel and experience multiple cultures.

Enough of my rambling.  Please join in the conversation when you can.

Hi Jani

I don't live with my mother when In Latin America. I have other relatives and life is way more laid back than in the states. My parents are Catholic. The wrong kind, the prejudiced close minded type. They think being transgender-transsexual is a choice as opposed to a condition. So they think I chose to be a woman, not that I was born female brain with male genitals. Well, I'm sure most TG people are disapproved by their folks and immediate family, my estimation is 90-95% are rejected and 5-10% are the super-lucky ones with understanding and accepting parents. so I know it comes with the territory but boy, does it hurt or what? I always have nightmares about my family and their rejection. But I have to cope with it, just as most MTFs do.

Thats great that you have other relatives that are understanding.  Unfortunately we don't get to choose our parents and even then many don't understand as this is a thing cis-gender people never deal with so it is generally off their radar, so to speak.   I don't know if the rejection rate is that high, but I do know some that don't understand eventually come around, because of familiarity or just love.   I get that you just have to cope with it.   <hug>

Hi Pam,

One of the voice things I do is pratice a single word until it is perferfect and use that to "tune" my voice. the word I use is "anyway". Welcome to transpulse!

Hi Pam and welcome.

I guess i was "lucky".  Both my parents were dead before i transitioned.  The relatives in my generation are mostly accepting with a few exceptions.

My wife and I had a hard time for a bit but now we are seemingly closer than ever.  The need to man-up and lie has passed and our relationship is stronger living the truth as difficult as that might be at first.  Time has certainly helped.

Enjoy your time here.  This site has helped me to find and accept myself.

Hugs,

Charlize

Hi Pam! Nice to read your introduction! I thought your 'robotic' writing was refreshing actually and easy to read also! It sounds like you have gone through a lot of work to become who you are today, so kudos to you. My parents still won't talk to me so I know what you mean when you write that your parents don't accept you. It stings....Hope you continue to seek happiness and be yourself,

Hugs,

Sunny

Thanks to all of you for welcoming me!

As I've mentioned, the topic that interests me most about transitioning is the voice. Because my bone structure, height, hair, etc. etc. have no solution now physically, after eight years of non-stop HRT and a few surgeries, that's as far as I got. But a good acceptable female voice does help a lot IMHO. So whatever I can do to help others on this, I am available.

Take care everybody!

Pam (with the olive green eyes lol)

Hi Pam!

Welcome! My name is Kendall-- I'm a 28 year old ftm speech therapy student. I'm hoping to eventually be able to use my degree to help people achieve a voice that makes them happy. If you'd like, I can ask around at school to see if anybody has some good online resources for voice stuff. I went to a workshop on trans voice therapy over the summer and it was great! I'll try to find the info from that, as well..

Hi Pam!

It was so nice reading your story! You've gone through so much and have done much of the work that some of us long for. So sorry to read about the difficulties with your family. My parents are gone but I do worry about my siblings. I can just imagine the looks on their faces when I try to explain gender dysphoria - yikes. I have an adult daughter too and her reaction is completely unpredictable. Another yikes. Love your picture! You seem to be very comfortable with yourself and your identity. I'm shy too so I can relate to your challenges getting your social needs met. I have a feeling you'll do fine :)

(I'd give anything to play the drums!!)

"Exstatic" is an adjective that means feeling great rapture or delight. For example, "His wife gave birth to their first child, and he was ecstatic about it". Synonyms of "ecstatic" include rapturous, entranced, enthusiastic, and frenzied.

Absolutely. Being able to encourage, to help, others is so empowering. I've been helped by so many people over the years, I love being able to pay it forward.

Good morning, everyone!!   A busy day ahead for me - need to cut the grass and then pick up the clippings. The grass grows so quickly this time of year. I cut almost 7 acres so that will take up most of my day. At least I can get some sun on my legs and arms!!   Time for another cup of coffee as I catch up here.   Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given.

I started shaving my legs years ago - I started getting an occasional mild contact rash on my shins. That became my excuse to shave them for both me and my wife. Over time, the rash didn't expand...but my shaving did. Full legs....groin......chest......and finally my arms. Keeping the rash at bay was my excuse until I came out to my wife. Now I typically do a full shave on Sunday mornings. The hair is lighter but I just feel better with it gone - it helps with the dysphoria and dysmorphia. I will also typically do a chest touch-up mid week since I notice the growth more there.   I wish someone would invent a pill that would stop hair growth everywhere except on your head.

Good morning.   im not sure where the time went.  I had a decent nights sleep,  didn’t  tell Alexa to let me sleep another 5 minutes,  I didn’t do anything extra but it’s almost time to leave and I just got here.  Definitely only a one cup morning.    I have the overhead console out of the Ford. It needed some repairs with toothpicks and glue.  Been sitting all night t for the glue to harden. I’m always to impatient with glue but not this time.  I want it to hold. Ok the next owner won’t be able to change the lightbulbs however in my defense, the are led so they will likely still work when the car goes to the salvage yard.   gotta go. Not as much on my plate at work today but it’s always busy.   Willow

Yes, my programmer friends and I think that antivirus software is a virus.  It's constantly searching your system and slowing it down.  If you install your own OS and software on your machine, and you make backups of your personal files, then you can recover from viruses in an hour or two.  My computer is 10+ years old and is working as good as the first day I had it.   As long as my computer is doing what I want it to do, I don't care if someone is spying on my system.

If you get a ticket, always say not guilty and go to court. Much of the time, the officer will not show up, and often the district attorney or the judge will not want to take the time. They ticket harvest because most people just agree to the fine and send them a check by mail.   If you are not a commercial driver, Most states also have a ticket forgiveness program. You take a little easy Driver's Ed Course, and it doesn't go on your record or increase your insurance prices. Explore your options!
