WA state considering non-binary birth certs

WA state would not be the first, other west coast states are moving in this direction. There was opposition to this proposal (as expected).

 

A decision could come early next year.

This policy change for birth certificates was approved today by the WA state dept of health, and will go into effect 1/27/2018

This is a good move.  Personally, I wouldn't choose the third option, but I'm sure there are many who will.  The ADF will surely come up with some claim that having a third option somehow takes away someone's freedom or rights.  Their attorneys are making lots and lots of money.

This is awesome news for all NB's in Washington!!! Maybe one day Vermont will follow suit!! I would personally chose to change the F to an X!!!
