Howdy (Australian-British)

Howdy, everyone, my preferred name I suppose would be Crystal (I'm still trying to decide on my new name...); I currently reside in Australia hailing from England in the U.K since 2008, I came to these Forums in order to get my mind off of things, I've been questioning my gender identity an awful lot as of recent, I suppose that I'm not the first one to say this, but I'm not really satisfied with being Male at this time...

I'm not sure if I should really go into detail about my experience here with Gender Dysphoria in the Introductions Forum, as I'm fairly new and unsure of where things go; But to set the tone, I first started getting the feeling of wanting to be a Male to Female Transexual when I was about the age of 8 to 9, and by then, I wasn't even aware of what the terms 'Transgender' or 'Dysphoria' for example, even meant
And the suddenly, the feeling hit me again recently, and I've not let it out of my mind since...

Either way, I am really confused as to what to do, and I thought coming here might provide some answers...

Welcome, Crystal!

The beginning stages of exploration are a great time to look for a gender therapist - one trained in working with the trans community.  Such a professional can help you explore your feelings and decide where on the gender spectrum you fall.  So can asking questions here - we'll do our best to answer as completely as we can.  There's much to be learned from the experiences of others.

Feel free to ask away!  Don't worry overmuch about posting to the wrong forum - do your best when choosing a forum to post to, and if it's better suited elsewhere one of us mods will move it. :)

Ah, I see, thank you so much for the warm welcome, Dev; I wish I could go see a Gender Therapist, although I would rather not dive right into that scene as I'm still with my family, and I don't really want to jump to that boat yet
Perhaps I could get into contact with my Counsellor about this?

Greetings Crystal and welcome.  Coming to terms with our gender identity can be confusing but that's what places like this are for, to assist you in sorting out things and providing a safe place to communicate with others on the gender journey.  A Dev noted, please don't worry about posting in the wrong forum.  Its sort of like coloring outside the lines, there is no penalty.  :D

From your comment I take that you live at home and maybe are in school?  That's fine as there is no rush when it comes to discovering who we are.  In the end we all travel at our own pace.  If the counsellor you speak of is at your school then certainly they may have information, but be aware that word may eventually get to your family if you are under the age of majority.  You might inquire as to confidentiality related to conversations with them.

Please ask any questions you have and check out older posts to see others experiences.  BTW: I love coffee too!

Cheers,

Jani

Thank you, Jani, and yes indeed, I'm currently at School and Home; Although currently on Summer Break, you make a good point, I am able to see them in their office if scheduled for appointment, but I would be unable to go there myself without parental supervision sadly... (Which understandable, but still...)
I will give this place a look around though to find some more answers, again, I deeply appreciate the kind words

Thats interesting that you could not talk to your counselor without supervision.  Well, actually it seems odd but I'm sure there are reasons.  As I suggested, pick a sub-forum and page through the posts to see what is/was going on in peoples minds.  I think you'll learn quite a bit and it will help you understand your own situation.  Just from the little bit you wrote it appears your narrative is similar to many here and elsewhere.  You are definitely not alone, and from my understanding Australia has a good sized transgender population so there are resources available.

At some point you will most likely feel you need to broach the subject of how you feel with your parents.   Be mindful they may be shocked and dismayed as certainly as they may be accepting.  You will need to prepare emotionally for both responses.  There is time for that later.  Just don't get ahead of your comfort level.

Welcome Crystal.

I found simply discussing things with others here helped me a great deal when i was first finding my feet before i took a step on any path.  Any place where we can be honest and open about ourselves helps.  I would definitely mention your issues with your counselor or your doctor.  My Doctor was one of the first people i talked to and while i was afraid i knew she would lend me an ear at the least.

You are not alone.

Hugs,

Charlize

Hi Crystal,

Welcome to TransPulse. I'm glad you"re here!

One of the greatest benefits I've found in these forums is no longer having to be alone. I've become part of this community and found a home here! It's amazing how much confidence we can gain together as opposed to being on our own. You've got understanding and caring friends here!

Lots of love,

Timber Wolf?

Welcome, Crystal. You'll find that TransPulse is not only a great resource, but it's a friendly and safe place to ask questions and interact with others while you figure things out. It's nice to hear from someone living on the other side of the planet :)

Aww, thank you very much for all the meaningful replies, everyone! The information that I've already been given from this thread alone is outstanding enough in its own right, and I'm glad you all have positive outlooks for me ^^
As for the supervision part, it would be as in my parent(s) taking me to the office of the Counsellor and monitoring what I say until I prefer to say things to her by myself, my parents just like to know I guess; I don't know really, it's weird...

It's really hard to say how they will react anyway, I wasn't going to plan on telling them until I was older, but at this rate, it may come out sooner than I thought...

Sounds like time for a new Body Technician hopefully one that is actually a Doctor Of Medicine, this one you describe is short of that mark.

I've been seeing my new treating doctor for quite some time now, whenever I'm advised to make an appointment. When it comes to seeing a new treating doctor, hard part is starting all over again building trust between patient and doctor. On my first day seeing my new treating doctor, before I could say anything else to her, she explained to me I needed to be completely honest with her. I kind of expected that type of patient profiling response from her, since she doesn't specialize in intersex care. Anyway, I sat down in the chair as I explained to my new doctor, I don't have all of my hospital records, certain records from my childhood and teenager years are mysteriously missing regarding a surgery. After my examination was over, she disregarded or showed no interest in searching for my missing medical records, but instead she blamed me for how I take care of my health today.

Had a customer bring in her Subie for struts. I ordered fronts. later yesterday, the boss called me into the shop. the proceeds to say I ordered the wrong ones, the fronts instead of rears. Then today I got looking I did order the right ones the first time. All the paper work that I have says front even the last work order said fronts. I told the other boss. So, Have I gotten a sorry from the boss. Ha, ha, not yet. I am doubting I will ever get one.   Oh, well. life goes on.   Kymmie

While I agree with a lot of the campaign personally, I don't think a government-mandated reduction in childbirth is really necessary. As a young person, I hardly know anyone who wants to be a parent in the future. I think a lot of people will either be waiting a while or not having kids at all, meaning that the number of kids being born will probably decrease. Overcrowding's also mostly an urban issue -- plenty of places in rural America have plenty of space for both people and growing food.    Of course, everyone sees things differently, so I won't necessarily say you're wrong. I just think my generation is a lot less inclined to the family mindset than some that came before us.

To me, it sounds like a solution searching for a problem.  I believe in the Russian perspective, that oil is abiotic and likely under every part of the Earth's surface.  There's plenty.  "Peak oil" and "climate" are excuses for government control.   As for roads, we use asphalt because tar and bitumen are a byproduct of fuel production, not the other way around.  Asphalt is not a great material, really.  It can also be recycled somewhat and used again.  Notice how road crews grind down existing asphalt into powder? Concrete is a better material for roads.  But in areas like where I live, very little of our roads are paved.  Gravel is a luxury, and a lot of roads are mud.  Same in many "developing" nations.  Pavement is better for transport, but its not like we would die without it.  Lack of pavement might actually be a good thing, as people might stay home more and food might be grown locally instead of relying on transportation.  It would stop this wacky idea of growing everything in California.     I believe the big crisis we face is globalism and government control.  Proposing some scheme to control our families? That's just more of the same.  Even if folks managed to get enough votes (or rig enough elections) to get the power to do that, it won't be as VP or president of the USA in its current 50-state form.

The months of June has already been planned out for me with only minimal time for sleep between the Trans Chorus Of Los Angeles and the various communities around me that are in the service area of the LGBTQ  Center I was on the Board of Directors of that are having Pride Events, both LGBTQ Pride and Trans Pride stand alone events.

Very cool. I've been clumsily navigating the world of makeup so this may help. Some of the tutorials on YouTube are so advanced, they may as well be speaking Klingon :P

I've realized that our laptops are using much less plastic than they used to.  They are smaller devices that use less raw materials and are easier to ship and hold up better in shipping than bigger computers with removable parts.  They seem to have gotten rid of the overheating/fan problem for the most part, but there is a performance hit for that.  I use a 10yo desktop computer with a moderate level gaming video card to run 3 monitors.  I'm a producer though and most consumers have no need for that.   I really haven't watched TV since the 80's.  I spend some time researching on the internet and then I spend a lot of time meditating on the objects in my environment and on the streets.  From living on the streets for a year, I've learned that people can say anything and can control you, but the laws of physics and mathematics are outside of that and really even transcend time itself.  After people would not support my music, I built my life as a software engineer based on mathematics and engineering.  I've had a moderately successful career with that and have written code for many different industries.   The problem with stopping oil usage is that if we still need the bitumen to pave our roads and shingle our houses, then what do we do with the gas when we refine it?  There are natural deposits of bitumen, but you know, with so many people out there, demand is huge and we are using this stuff up.  If you grow corn for corn syrup, then what do you do with the cobs?  We've shipped coffee and bananas all over the world.  We took material from those environments.  What do we do now?  How long can it last?

I think that threats that can be proven should be incarcerated for half the sentence of the one they would commit if carried out.  Lies unfortunately are just words unless as you stated if not under oath.
