Insurance and employment

Ok so I made my appointment with a counselor yeah me.  I asked if they tell the insurance company about what I'm there for , which I pretty much knew the answer   no they don't. Cool.   

So if you start hrt , I'm sure the insurance company will know that as well as Endo appointments                       do they tell your employer about you and what your doing,  or is that confidential information.

Generally speaking when the counselor submits an insurance claim they code it with number relating to anxiety, stress or something similar that applies.  They do not get more specific than that.  Otherwise there are concerns of HIPPA violations.

That I understand.    What about seeing doctors  and hrt and endo

Your employer should not be given any information about whatever condition you are suffering from whether it is a heart problem or gender issues.  HIPPA provides that protection.  You may decide to share the information with your employer but that should be your decision, not the insurance companies.
