MtF HRT - Today is Day 1

I ran into a couple of the people I met last Summer when I was homeless. They were offered the same exact

 opportunities I was.

Yet...

They are still hanging out in the same park. Pushing the same shopping cart...or one just like it. Some wearing what looks like even the same clothing towing the same luggage pack on wheels with an extendable handle...or one just like it. Maybe 12 baths since If we're lucky. All still eating at mission for free hot lunch. Not me we had grill burgers with grill peppers and sharp cheddar on local Cracked Wheat Sourdough bread...

I don't get it...

Today I start MtF HRT. I am a bit nervous. A little fearful. In the past they (the shrinks) did their utmost best to denigerate, condemn and try to thoroughly convince me my thoughts and feelings were evil, misplaced and I must not go there.

All the reassurance I've gotten from peeps involved with the clinic is worthless one hour before appointment because of the past.

I am walking in with head held high and doing my damndest to muster all the courage I have.

My nails are done and hair is brushed!

Here I go...

I'm so happy for you, Michelle!! Yes, the process can be challenging, but the rewards are almost too special to describe. I'm at 2 1/2 months and my inner life has changed dramatically. I feel soooooo feminine and much more sensitive - it's wonderful. Many here are mentioning crying, and I was brought to tears a dozen times this morning and the day is not done! I'm envious that you're ready to change your name/gender on documents. My life is a bit more complicated and this will take some time.

Good luck in everything and welcome to the sisterhood :) :) :)

I think it is desire and a little luck.  We all know change is hard.  For some the status quo is comforting.  Seems odd to me...

Crying worked... LoL

He's not home yet... It's all good though.

He'll be back tomorrow.

We aren't married and we are not sexually engaged so he has all the space and freedom I enjoy. No pressure. It's nice...

Michelle i found that early on in my HRT i had big mood swings.  Crying at times and crying at others.  Some of that may have been the action of the hormone change but i'm fairly certain now that there was also the joy and fear of what was ahead of me. Those swings have settled down for me.  If it becomes and issue with your boy friend you might want to explain that to him as i found i could be annoying to others during that time.

Hugs,

Charlize

Early on my emotions were all over the map!  But as time moved on they have settled down to a comfortable range.  You will too!

Sigh...

Shawn claims he understands. I have to believe him. He is still here and we still find laughter daily so I find it best to chalk it up to experience and proceed with caution and eyes wide open.

Having found my voice is a major mile stone. Shawn said this pic tells it all...

Funny how some people accept who you are with no expectations while others seem to want you to alter your own methodology to fit their expectations with all manner of form and function. In other words "if you don't change back you are no longer part of our clique." Expelled forever. Evil! A pariah..!

Some peeps have even gone so far as to say, "It's about time!" and become even closer friends.

I'm like "huh??!? What do you mean?" Apparently I have been displaying feminine attributes forever... LoL!

Dr. Seuss was right all along.  "Those who matter don't mind. Those who mind don't matter."

I think this is something many of us are guilty of.  HA!

It's definitely a unique rollercoaster.

I have a couple medical issues not associated with my transition. One is my back. L4-5, S1, S3, S5 and a lump on throat. Biopsy next week. Scary stuff.

Hard to feel pretty with this gawd awful lump!

I'm glad to hear you're going to get them looked at.  I know you're not happy but try to focus on the good things that are happening in your life.

Thank all for your kind words.

The part I hate the most is waiting. I got my Dentures Friday but I can't afford the glue so I have to wait till payday. They want $13,750 for semi permanent, bolt secured uppers. Partials on bottom.

Geeez! I can buy a new Mini Cooper for that!

Good afternoon M.A.   Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums, I think you'll find that there are a lot of us who had their first therapist reconsidering our story and recommended us to gender or LGBTQIA specific therapist. I made my first therapist cry after asking me what was my worst experience or memory. She was not prepared for the can of worms I brought to the couch. My second therapist is a gem, she's my age and knows how to work with my thoughts.    My two kids were also involved in the arts programs in school one in theater, the other combined art and modern music.   Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated,    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Welcome.   This can be a good sounding board and a place to say things you otherwise could not. Be yourself. Find out what that is.   Abby

I'm wearing a white t shirt and jeans.  The t-shirt is softer than a man's and slightly girly.  Feeling kinda pretty.

That's very common in internet forums and it is hard not to take it personally sometimes.   You might post "bump" with a smiley face to bring it to the top of the stack, or you might use the @ feature if there are certain people you would really like to have comment on it, and say something like Dear Abby, I would really like your input on this.  Please take a minute and respond.  Thanks!!!

The same for me... That's exactly were MmIndy came from. I started choosing female skins as soon as they became available in the few games I played.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Something else I noticed @Ladypcnj Since I use the Unread tab, I don't see threads I've read again until someone replies to it, or the author adds something.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Good morning @Ladypcnj   Some posts get lost in the busy times here. It also maters how people navigate the site. Some only look at their notifications, or tap the All Activity tab which shows them thread they've commented on. (how I see it)... I on the other hand use the Unread tag under Activity. I don't think people ignore post as much as they get caught up reading threads they've already been active in.   Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

What to do if post is being ignored?

Oh yeah, I forgot,    @awkward-yet-sweetwhen your husband finally breaks down and decides to replace the stoves I agree a single professional stove even out of a defunct restaurant might well be the way to go when cooking for all those kids and adults. Certainly better that the situation you describe.  Or maybe from a used restaurant supply where they have professionally cleaned and refurbished it.

Wow, yesterday was a very active day.     @Birdie I hope they figure out where that’s coming from and get you heeled quickly. That it’s nothing serious.  Maybe going to the day care with a purewick will finally convince them to change their attitude.   @MaeBe  especially if you believe you are about to loose your job anyway, what’s to keep you in Minnesota ?  This could be a wonderful thing for all of you Washington State can be wet but it’s really not as bad as it’s made out to be.  If you are west of the cascades it is relatively mild not like MN in the winter time.  And east of the cascades it’s rather desert like around Yakima.     New car shopping can be fun but it can be very stressful too.  We talked about it over lunch yesterday. Strange thing is she kept coming back to the old Ford.  My response was instead of two car payments there woul only be one although I would expect it to be a little higher, but not nearly what two would add up .  Plus I wouldn’t have to continue working as long with only one as when I get the other things paid off I know we can live without me working.  Unless of course, the congress decides to mess with social security.  Right now I have three vehicles I want to look at two are at one dealer and the third at another.  All three are GMs two are newer with lower mileage but are also lower end on the GM line.  The third which is the one that most interests me is a Cadillac.  Let’s see there is a song from way back about a Cadillac and a Hot Rod Lincoln comes to mind.  Anyway it is an XT-5. I get my room and comfort, she gets her nice appointments and the ford hopefully will hang on as a spare for those occasions when we need a second car for me to go to work and for her to do ??  The downside is it has just under 80,000 miles and is a 2020 so in that regard we are slipping backwards from a 2022 with 25000  but going from a sub-compact to a mid-size.  The other two are a compact and a Midsize but neither would provide the expected comfort and features of the Cadillac.  The biggest of which are the pedals that would adjust and the seat adjustments. (My wife is 4’ 10” and I am 5’8” since my spine has shrunk.  The Caddy also has the lane safety as well as front and rear collision warning.  The mileage will go down and the engine requires higher octane gas but that won’t be too much of a drag since we can go to Murphy USA where I work or to Costco which isn’t that far away. 10 miles.  And it’s better than the Ford!   I guess we will see how this plays out later.   Willow
