Do epilators really work for temporary hair removal? I can do the other ones right now because I don't have the money. Thanks all

They can but I don't believe they are recommended for facial hair.  This type is different than body hair on the arms and chest.  Right now a close shave is probably your best bet.

Definitely not recommended for facial hair, trust me, I tried it and nearly tore my skin.  Like Jani said, close shave, and learn to cover shadow with makeup.  You can do this with a  red or orange color correct cream (lipstick will do in a pinch, and might actually be more cost effective) followed by a contour cream close to your skin tone, then your foundation, and lastly a translucent loose powder.  It takes a bit of practice to get the blending down, but it's worth it.

If you happen to be on t-blockers, this can over time slow facial hair growth enough that this can last you the whole day without noticeable regrowth.

I have never tried on facial hair, but from experience, would not recommend it. After using my epilator my skin tends to look a little red and blotchy for a few hours so the night before doing anything is Ok. I suffer badly with ingrowing hair though, so now usually just shave closely (0.4mm on my electric shaver) on my body. A normal close facial shave. I do still use my epilator for underarms. It seems to work well and, although I use once a week, in practice I could get away with only using once every two or three weeks. I do use red of orange lipstick for conceilment as Robin recommends.

If you have black hair laser seems to work really well, they say electro is better but each to their own, sometimes laser clinics do deals

You are right that it works well. But probably too well if you're only going for temporary removal. I'm close to my second laser session on the neck, and there are several patches already where absolutely nothing has grown back.

I have an epilator and I have used it all over my body except my face.  It keeps my skin pretty smooth for 1 to 2 weeks, but it takes 2 to 3 weeks for my hair to get long enough to use again.  The more you use it the more effective it is.  I highly recommending NOT consuming caffeine prior to any epilation technique.   I normally use it over the tub because it makes a big mess.  Overall, I like it and I would rank it as more effective than shaving and less effective than waxing.

Why would one want a temporary removal,
