Pain

Not sure where to start this but I wondered if what I'm dealing with is common or not. I have been on T for five years now, no hysto etc. For about two years now, I've had pelvic pain that comes and goes. It feels similar to when I had unwelcome visits before T but nothing happens thankfully. Over the past couple months it has gotten worse. Has anyone else dealt with this? Is it normal?

I haven't gone through what you're going through as I am not FtM, so I can't speak from specific experience. But from a medical standing, I would strongly suggest you see whatever doctor you feel most comfortable with. Always, always, if something really weird is going on with your body, get checked out. It could be nothing, but it could be something. And catching some problem early is always better than catching it later on.

I hope someone else is able to give you some more insight. ❤️

Welcome Bass Dragon.  I agree with Aiyanna.  Please see your doctor.  Hopefully some of our FTM members will check in but you are a unique individual regardless.  It is much better to be safe!

Welcome again.

Thanks y'all. I'm super phobic about going to a doctor for it but gonna try to force myself.

Going to address a problem like this is a good reason to start working on this type of phobia.   Best of luck and I hope it's all good.

You should definitely visit your doctor. Mine told me that any pain or bleeding is unusual and a check-in is necessary if it happens! I know how you feel with medical phobia stuff-- I've found that talking with my doctors about my fears can be helpful because then they're careful to be extra kind and explain what's going on. Good luck!

There are some potential medical problems from being on T and atrophy. It may be differences in muscle strength affecting the pelvic floor , which happens and causes pain. But it could also be a potentially serious medical situation some trans men develop.

So please see a Dr and have it evaluated. No one here can evaluate which it is or diagnose it. This is a case where better safe then sorry because if it is medical the sooner it is treated the better.

But one important point is that trans

men do not develop cancer at any greater rate than women and it is unlikely to be that. Most likely is actually increased muscle strength in the pelvic floor but as I said this is a situation best check out medically.

I finally went to the doctor. He does want to do an exam so we talked about my PTSD a bit. He is going to refer me to someone who may be able to sedate me and is trans* friendly.

Glad you've made that step!  Care for yourself.  As i've grown into self acceptance that becomes easier but self acceptance and care seem to work together.

Wonderful news.  There is no need to live in pain or fear.
