Minimum Optimal Length for good Metoidioplasty Outcome?

I've been trying to dig around and see what the best clitoral growth would be prior to going in for meta. I know that the bigger you are, the more likely you'll have good results, but there's nothing I can find on surgeon sites or even really on forums about what the minimum suggested length is so that you'll have a decent result. Is 4cm long enough? If it's 5cm (2in), does it make a significant difference over 4cm? People who've had it, what do you recommend?

I think a lot of it has to do with more than just how much growth you've got. I think body shape, weight, etc all play a part in how things look post-surgery. It might be helpful to find a specific surgeon to consult with. You could also check out transbucket for post-op photos, maybe? That way you could see how meta turns out for people with body types similar to yours. There's also a facebook group called "metoidioplasty discussion," maybe the folks there would have more info?

Go directly to the offices of the surgeons, since this is still an "art form surgery" that has no set numbers to go by.  As CL says, some of it will depend on your own body as it is now.  Although I am MtF, I have attended presentations by surgeons who do the MP's and they look for possibilities not limitations.  Only rarely do they find a patient for whom it will not work at all.
