When i read about how forcing trans* military personnel out will harm our preparedness i can only think that Trump doesn't care about our military.  He will just make friends with our biggest historical foes.  I am ashamed of our president!

I would have loved to have been able to be myself when I was serving. However, I know what the reactions would have been if trans people would have been able to come out when I was in service. Or at least what the reactions would have been from those that I served with. The military makes rules and expects the troops to follow them blindly but the people in charge don't live at the bottom where the violence takes place. And they very seldom if ever hear about the violence because it is covered up by senior NCO's and Officers in order to protect themselves for allowing it to happen. Of course keep in mind that when I joined I had to sign a form that stated that I was not now, nor had I ever been a homosexual nor had I engaged in any type of homosexual activities. A very different time and place for the military.

 

I wish only the best for our brothers and sisters who have chosen to make the commitment regardless of their personal struggles.
