ROGD-Fake Science Strikes again

You might see this come up, one of my transactivist friends has heard of "Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria" at school board meetings she has been involved with as well. The article below kind of explains what the flaws and biases were done in that "study".

Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria is what happened to me IRL.  The moment I heard the term Gender Dysphoria which was coined about the time I was 50 years old I knew that I had it.  (Said with an ironic sneer on my face.)  The Dysphoria had been present, but defined as a group of other feelings and problems that had been my constant companions since early childhood.

Parents who think that GD is shameful and the result of poor parenting, or who have not or cannot be educated to accepting that GD is just a normal variation of healthy young people and have hidden the  possibility from their lives are the ones to embrace the ROGD model.  Flat Earth and Creation Science believers are highly receptive to the idea that GD is catching and a disease to be pitied or eradicated.  It takes the parents by surprise, not the children, because the parents are ignorant, scared and ashamed of the idea.

An excellent analysis of this new term being bandied about.  Thanks for posting the link, Marcie.

This sounds more like a diagnosis for those we TELL.

Trans person: "I'm transgender".

Cis person:  "Oh my goodness!!!  But you've never exhibited any signs of being trans [confused expression]  Hummm.  It must be Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria".

Trans person: "I think you mean, Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria AWARENESS".  Your head might implode now"

Copied and saved the article for the next idiot I run into who argues this nonsense.  Thanks Marcie.

That is indeed the point that I have seen in other articles on the ROGD, you have just said it much more simply and directly.

And that the study was done on those visiting sites that espoused the ROGD model, you do have selection bias in the results.

Yes, an overwhelming defect in the "study".

I took an involuntary swim wearing my quick dry hiking pants and shirt. Lifejacket not shown but present on the rock I am sitting on. Watson is dry now but I am still soaked. I capsized my kayak 5 feet from the shore trying to land on an island. Water in the pond was surprisingly warm considering it is early may in upstate New York.

@Birdie best of luck to you, my friend.   @MaeBe, nothing ventured, nothing gained! Good luck!

Oh I will. He loves to just sleep on the couch and sleep. Not very active at all which I'm mixed about. Less to do but also want him to do more too.

We had a German Shepheard/Lab cross! It was actually our son's dog but when he moved out, Axel stayed here. ❤️ He was soooo awesome! Totally goofy, but really smart, and a million percent lovable. Unfortunately, he didn't even get to see his fifth birthday. 😢 He did both hind knees in quick succession, which were repaired, but he re-injured one and it wasn't repairable. The grief we went through after we made that horrible decision was far worse than anything we have ever experienced before or after.    @Ashley0616, please be gentle with his joints until he is all grown up!   This pic is when he was still a puppy.

When things seemed really rocky with my wife. I had thought about moving to the PNW. WA and OR are quite LGBTQ friendly. Even interviewed for a couple jobs there.   Hugs, Kymmie

Friday night was pizza night, which is actually pretty routine here.    Tonight was a bit of a seafood fry-up. Crumbed flathead tails pan fried, crumbed scallops and chips (fries) deep fried, and a salad.   Tomorrow night will be junk food at a football game.

I was admitted upstairs for observation. The nurse last night took one look at me and said, "we need to use a FEMALE external catheter on you."   They placed a PureWick catheter over me and it's working great. If there isn't anything to connect a male catheter to it just isn't going to work.   So far I haven't passed more blood, and my abdomen does feel better. A specialist is supposed to see me today and perhaps order a colonoscopy to find out where all the blood came from.
