My 3-month lab results are in...

...and I'm nervous.

 

I started Spiro in April 11, and E on May 18. Originally, my LDL was just a little above normal, but nowhere near anything to worry about. This time around, the results have me thinking the worst about HRT. My T is way high after 4 months, at 580+ and we're aiming for 55 or below, and E at 3 months is 20 and the low goal is 30 (I want it much higher than 30...my new girls need to grow! ). We're increasing spiro to bring T down faster, but keeping E at the same dose, and recheck next week.

 

But then I got the news that my ALT is elevated at 54. Since it's liver related, now I'm worried that I'm heading down a path where they're going to tell me to stop HRT. Has anyone else hit that bump in the road? Am I just being paranoid and they're actually playing it safe?

I'm afraid I can't your questions.  There are many here who can and hopefully they will chime in shortly.  

 

I am writing simply to assure you that it is a bit early to be unduly anxious about your numbers.  Your body is unique and it will likely take some time and modifications to your meds to get your numbers on the right track.  You have reason to be concerned, but don't let it unnerve you.

Dakota my T was never that high to begin with but I did hit a plateau at one time where it didn't change after a period on antigen.  My Spiro was increased and later my E was upped a little.  I saw movement in the values.  Sometimes our bodies are a mystery and we need to work with our doctors to find the right combination of dosages that work for us.   About the other tests, are you staying well hydrated? This is not important, its critical.

I hope you are working closely with your doctor on this dear.  As Jani mentioned hydration is important.  Hopefully you are not drinking much alcohol.  That is often a culprit when the liver is concerned.

I hope things work out for you. I would not worry about it yet. I think they will get it worked out. 

I had problems and I think we are getting things worked out. 

From the numbers you were given I am wondering if the test was somehow off. 

I got a test that was way off then the next one seemed to be in the ranges.
