Just had breakfast with my first coffee of the day. I had tea at breakfast yesterday. I get leaf tea from a good tea shop in town. They have maybe a hundred different ones - an old fashioned shop with tins lined around the walls. I was wondering if they miss me as I drink more coffee nowadays so don't get in there often.

 

It's interesting to note Michelle. We have ticks here, but seem to hassle dogs more than people. I prefer heat and could probably handle the desert (except for the risk of sunburn), but do love forested areas. I think my garden represents this mix with a combination of some trees (miniature except for the apple) but with a few cacti sprinkled around. So much in a little place!

I’ve been in the desert in Arizona, Colorado and Washington.  I can tollorate higher temperatures than in the humid places I tend to live.  But it doesn’t get as hot here either.  Kind of a trade off I suppose.  Ticks aren’t as big a problem here as the were in Virginia.  In peak season there we always had to check for ticks when we came inside.

Good morning, coffee s good today. Sunny, pretty day but a bit chilly.

 

I tried a different group meeting yesterday.  Guess I won’t be going back to that one.  They spent nearly two hours on What amounted to an executive business meeting talking about things that were not supportive to the members.  They have no money but want to put on a conference.  To get attendance they want to ask Jazz to be their Keynote speaker at this conference.  Seems a bit strange to me.

 

Speaking of members there were essentially three regular members and three visitors counting me.  I can understand why.  Finally spent an hour talking about questions and needs but had to cut that off because of a time constraint.  I think they need to do their executive discussions separate from their support meetings.  It just might be better attended.

It’s not easy to find support meetings that are good. The attendance at the meeting I last went to was low because certain people can’t share the time with other people and hijack the whole thing. When people don’t get an opportunity to speak about their problems or fears, they will not return. It’s that simple. That has to do with whether or not the facilitator is enforcing the boundaries. 

 

It’s sunny today and I have a few errands to run today but working Saturday night threw my sleep off so I’m slow to get out. Saving coffee for tomorrow morning because I’ll need it.

I am just trying to find a support meeting. Even something informal, like getting together for coffee. Their is a PFLAG chapter here in town. I may go to one of their meetings to see what it is like. Maybe meet other trans people. I know they are in town.

I was thinking the same thing. I have not been yet and until my schedule starts to level off a little it’s hard to plan anything.

If there was a pflagg near me I’d go to that.  I guess what I really wanted was like a group therapy session or something similar to an AA meeting where people help people.  Not a political action group which is what I’ve run into.  Getting politicians to understand and support us is important but we need to support each other first.  So far the only place I’ve found that is here.

Woke up late, but made the bus, thank god. Got to see my partner, which that made my day. Half way through the day with school. My job applicant got back to me as well, going to an interview in a couple days. Excited for that. Okay day so far.

I hate not knowing how my mums going to react to me coming out. Any tips on how to do it so I don’t have to talk about it. She loves talking about things.

Welcome Noah.  You might try to understand what your mother knows about transgender people and her thoughts on the subject.  You might bring up the subject by saying you heard or read (xxxxx) and what does she think?

Well my mum is weird about the topic. She doesn’t understand why or how. She’s not transphobic she just doesn’t understand. And I feel like it would hurt her to have her baby “girl” not be 100% honest with her.

Had my post surgery visit for my finger today. Good thing is that the cast is off. the bad is the pin is still in there, I have a brace to keep on it, and will be off work for at least 3 more weeks.

Also had my appointment with my therapist. We talked about how to come out to my sons. Also about using my new name. She recommended a book, She's not there by Jennifer Boylan. Has anyone read it.

Oh that's a great book, I was fortunate to meet Jenny and get my copy signed...

 

When I first read that book in 2011, it was like a road map to transitioning within a marriage, her accounts were eye opening for me, I cried and cried reading that book Kymmie.

 

Highly recommended read, and heal up soon dear...

my my wife and I spent yesterday talking to another couple about the road we are on. It confirmed a lot of the emotions we are going through. I met them at a support group meeting and they offered to spend as much time as we would like talking to us and particularly my wife about their journey together. 

 

Not only did we enjoy their company but they had they had a lot of good things to say.

Another day! Good morning! I hope everyone is having a better one than me.I'm just stressing out about grades and school, plus other things. It sucks because for me currently its only 8:13 AM and I have already had a panic attack today. I'm just super tired in general today as well. Oh well, lets just hope that today gets a lot better. <3

Willow that is an invaluable friendship! My wife and I have a couple that we talk with pretty regularly about the ups and downs of transition and it truly does help a lot. I’m glad you had a good experience with your new friends!

Rain and wind here as i have my first cup.  Spring is here and the frogs serenade us with their songs of love.  Soon the pond will be swarming with tadpoles.  I'm working on getting new AGM batteries into a Polarus EV.  Things are certainly a bit more difficult as age and E have weakened this gal but the hardest thing is figuring out how to reprogram the charger for a set of different batteries.  Have a great day.
