Wow, do come on the coffee chat for a day and it explodes.

My wife got fired for a trumped up sting. As she grabbed the smokes, she went to ask for ID. the lady already had the fail slip. They were looking to fire her. and needed a reason. Same with me at Oriellys.

I am giving my boss one more, He accuses me of lying again. I'm going to calmly walk out, not saying a word. I cannot work for someone who doesn't trust me. I am old enough, and with my work and military background. Lets just leave it at that.

Had the township supervisor out this morning.A nosey neighbor I hate filed a complaint against me saying I had 2 junk cars in my yard.I do not,got rid of them in Febuary and showed proof I got rid of them. Two receipts from the scrap yard and it satisfied the supervisor.

Sorry you had to deal with that.  When folks are petty and inform on their neighbors to the government, its a truly despicable act.  I wouldn't feel sorry for that neighbor if they started getting some pranks played on them by folks in the neighborhood.  Its amazing how people continue to get away with that sort of stuff for years without any pushback.

As for the supervisor, a response of "No warrant?  GTFO." would have been appropriate as well.  When GF and I first got together, we lived in the city.  Of course they had a "no non-running vehicles" ordinance, which she ignored....she likes her car projects.  We had an opaque 8ft fence anyways, so IDK why it mattered.  A nosy neighbor complained, so somebody from the city showed up wanting to take a look.  GF told them that they had no proof (because they couldn't see it), and weren't going on her property without a warrant which a court isn't going to provide over an alleged minor real-estate non-compliance.

GF then figured out which neighbor it was, and paid him a visit.  She told him that she "knew" he'd been looking in our backyard to spy on me while I was swimming, and that she was going to report him, claiming he was a voyeur, and send a copy of that to his employer.  She made him apologize, pay her for her time, and call the city to explain his "mistake."  Yep, mess with the bull, you get the horns.

Thank God we now live out in the country, and away from that crap.

That's fantastic! I can imagine how you feel. Would you please share it with the group. I would love to see your artwork!

Perhaps I could...but I'd have to make sure its OK.  It isn't going to be art, exactly.  GF started showing me some of the stuff, and there's drawings related to small-scale oil refining.  This is totally different than stuff I did before.  I used to do video game character concepts, sci-fi book covers...not technical things.  My new work is going to be used in presentations to convince neighboring counties to assist in our new developments.

I'm a bit frustrated tonight, though.  I started in on a couple of basic PNG images, and I'm already having issues with my hands.  I just don't have the dexterity I used to.  It drives me crazy - the muscles are all there, but my brain doesn't control them quite the same, and not reliably. 😒  I've spent 18 months trying to retrain myself to do this, and I'm just not there yet.

Good morning, everyone! First cup of coffee is in the books and I'm about to grab another. I was awake early today - yesterday was I was pretty lazy so I guess I didn't need much sleep.

Having the extra time to get into my own head can be a bad thing, but I feel like I've turned a corner in my ability to control my dysphoria. My therapist put it in context of driving in a car with another person in the front seat. She's there but you are driving and in control. For some reason that resonated with me.

I've got some errands to run today. Nothing big and it's still too cold out to do any real outside work.

@awkward-yet-sweetPerhaps you'll find that the work you're doing now might help you make those final reconnections between your hands and brain. Sometimes a bit of deadline pressure can work miracles. 🙂 Stick with it. You've got this.

Have a wonderful day everyone and remember that some people learn by reading, some by doing, and the rest of us just have to pee on the electric fence to find out for ourselves. 😉

Just give it time and you'll have it done right. I wished I could draw. I would draw a whole bunch of Ford Mustangs and gaming characters too!

Good morning

Well, first day back to work.  Can’t say I haven’t enjoyed being off.  But now that’s over and hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to work I go.  I had hoped to finish my text book, however, I didn’t quite make it,  I still have a bit over a hundred pages to go.

Breakfast, those heart healthy Os with cut up strawberries, milk and OJ so far.  Coffee next. Guess I got lazy yesterday or was I just following the Ten Commandments.  No work got done. Kitchen has a passel of dishes to wash. I’ll try to get them organized this afternoon.

@KymmieL that’s a tough way to handle things.  At our store you get as far as to scan them before you have to ask for ID.  But just getting them?  Wow!  When you complete the sale is when you get the red you messed up, not before.  A sale isn’t a sale until you collect payment and hand the customer the goods.

When it come to alcohol it must be bagged or in a sealed manufacturing package for 6 or fewer bottles or cans.

that’s a tough one.  I’d think that could be appealed to a higher authority but is it worth it?

we’ll time to shower and dress for work. Coffee is on board.

Ouch!  Heart troubles are no good...seems like they can show up early in life, though.  My GF had a heart attack 2 days after she gave birth to her final child.  She was only in her mid 30's.  Hopefully the hospital will get you all fixed up.  You'll have to take it easy for a while.

Good evening

well first day back at work was generally good.  They made a change on our registers while I was out that has messed me up.   Got several compliments about my latest hair.  Color and style.  Found a number of past date products still on the shelf which I removed.  I guess there are only 3 of us that generally check dates and date codes. And two of us have been away.

@Adrianna Danielle  I’m sure that was quite a scare for you.  Glad you have a knowledgeable neighbor/friend who recognized symptoms and got you the care you needed.

That part about no damage to your heart is good. It stinks it'll take a year but it is major.

They were gunning for my wife. it was a set up. The district manager didn't like my wife. They spent a lot of money afterwords though. Changing the door locks and even changed out the whole safe. She's at a job she loves more, now.

Good morning, everyone. I've walked and fed the dog and have had my first cup of coffee. I'm about to read the local paper and enjoy a second cup.

I know I need to catch up on what everyone here has been up to......but I am still just basking in the glow of yesterday's first time going out in public. I just feel so happy and empowered. It was a baby step but it was the first time I walked on my own. My world has now changed.

Enjoy your day!!!

Good morning coffees   This probably doesn’t exactly apply to me because you wouldn’t have found a more shy and conservative person than me.  I was perhaps less shy before my sister started complaining about me doing things that were hers to do. And I would become embarrassed and that was the end of that.   upstairs unit got their typical weekend visitors in the middle of the night last night.  They woke me up.  They have little consideration for being in a condo community and the neighbors being in such close proximity.   @awkward-yet-sweet , how goes the job with your husband’s boss?  I don’t recall you saying much about it this week, but I could have missed a post along the way.  If I recall you were supposed to meet with him last Monday.   @KymmieL I hope you are feeling better.     Yes, I find it to be wrong that just because a car part says Ford or Chevrolet on the box that same part with Lincoln or Cadillac on the box cost a lot.more.  I know there are differences in the upscale brands such as the engine and drivetrain in the Caddy and of course the interior fit and finish.  But it’s the same body with things crammed in the same way under the hood.     well, time to finish my coffee, fix my hair and made my way across the street to work.    willow

I read about her this morning. What a shame! She was beautiful and it seems she had a strong support system in place and could have had a wonderful life all to have it end like this. Such a waste. I truly hope the monster that killed her gets everything he deserves.

I am so glad you enjoy them as well. The help things “stay put” so well. It got me through some of my most dysphoric times.   Wow, I hadn’t heard this at last week’s Zoom meeting if you had mentioned it. That is a huge milestone April Marie.I have no doubt that this confidence will only grow in time. The freedom of being yourself, especially in public, is a wonderful feeling. I am truly happy for you.😘   *Big Congratulatory Hug* Susan R🌷

Don't think Americans would go for the "compulsory" part. We kind of like not being told what to do ... Amazingly, there is great pushback on voter ID laws. The opponents say it discourages voting, especially among the poor and minorities. That is really a smokescreen IMO for those who want to harvest ballots from as many places as possible, including folks who don't exist or don't hold citizenship...

Pretty soon I think I might be ready to talk about gender-affirming care for kids, possibly w/r/t the Cass Review and its shortcomings.

Dear @Sally Stone.  I think you should author a memoir based on these posts (maybe you're already working towards that?).  You could decide at a later time if/when you might want to publish.   I appreciate you sharing your deep connection with your friend Willa (and I am sorry for your loss) and the benefit of having a Trans friend and mentor in our Life and Journey.  I was fortunate to have found one also in our TGP friend @Kasumi63.   As you know we share many common Life themes in our stories.  Drop me a PM if you'd like to chat about it.  Looking forward to the next 'chapter'.

Voting is compulsory here, for better or worse. Would doing the same in the US snap people out of their apathy?

I am noting you use CRT terminology.  The comment is not out of the blue.  Some of your remarks on religion suggest atheism.  So it is believable that you are a Marxist, knowingly or not.  Are you?
