I’m 19 and my plan is to start seeing a therapist next week, see my therapist for a year, have top surgery first with meto maybe, and have my vagina completely gone and everything that makes me a women like ovaries etc, I was wondering all the surgery names? Also after I’ll start on testosterone or maybe start on testosterone weeks before my surgery’s. I was wondering is there a way for meto to ever be 4 inch long the clitrios , or if I have meto then phalloplasty will it be bad , or should I just have phalloplasty, also do I have to have a penile implant to be able to pencentrate, erect and pee or are there other methods.

Hello Eliza and welcome.  It certainly appears that you have this al planned out.  Good for you!  But do be mindful that the best laid plans can go awry.  What I might recommend is to have a long term plan, like you have stated here but without a timeframe.  Then have a short term plan, like start to see therapist.  While you may feel a year would be long enough, you may find other concerns that need to be addressed that may move the next step out a little.  Or there may be issues beyond your direct control.  Be flexible!

I can't give you any advice on having a phalloplasty but there is lots of information available.  Also the doctor you choose will be the best person to get advice and recommendations from.  You may want to "shop around" to see who you are comfortable with, since you really only get one shot at these surgeries.

All my best.

Hello!

Let me start by saying hello to everyone. I knew when I was young that I landed in the wrong body. I prayed for God to take me at 9 years old. God hasn't taken me yet, and I am 51. Please know this Eliza. Go slow. Also be realistic. You sound like you have a plan. Remember cost. A fully functioning phalloplasty takes 2 or 3 surgeries. That is about 2 years worth. (healing, being able to use). I was quoted $50-55,000. Now, I am not here to be a downer. I want you to know that most surgeons do not work with Medicare. I have United Health Ins. through that and they will not work with it, they will give me an estimate. I cannot afford the procedure. BUT.....My friend, did get a metoidioplasty through Dr. Sherman Leis in PA, and is very happy. (That is the elongated clitoris). You said something about 4". This depends on how your built. The testosterone helps with the growth, I have been on it for 10 years.

If you "Google" FTM Bottom surgery you will get cost, the surgeons who do it, what is involved. You sound like you have it going on. The therapist letter is VERY important, appearing in public as the gender you wish to be is a stupid requirement, but must be done. (a therapist will vouch) I got everything but the $$. If I was a younger me, I would tell "me"....cost and a place to work like Starbucks. (they pay for your surgery!) Find out what insurance a surgeon will work with. It cost me $11,000 to go to San Francisco. $8,500 for the chest reconstruction and hotel, food, cab.

Only rely on you. YOU GOT THIS Eliza. IT CAN BE DONE. HAS BEEN DONE, AND I KNOW YOU WILL DO THIS.

Hello Reptidad.  I see this is your first post.  Welcome!   Why don't you go over to the Introductions sub forum and tell us a little about yourself?  We always love to hear from guys who transitioned years ago.

BTW, Dr. Sherman Leis was my surgeon as well as a number of my friends.  Different surgery but we're all happy!

Cheers,

Jani
