Have you noticed??

So I have been noticing something lately. It’s what I loving refer to as female brain. It’s the ability to be looking for something for a good portion of time before you realize it’s IN YOUR HAND! Lmao. Now this is only 1 aspect that I’ve noticed personally along with the massive number of topics that float thru my head constantly, the desire to be more open and helpful, the need for more physical contact, and so many other little nuances.

But today I spent a good 90 seconds looking for my sunglasses in my purse getting more and more irritated that I couldn’t find the rather large tiger print case they reside in only to eventually realize I picked it up to see if it was underneath it! ??‍♀️??. When I told my wife how silly I was she quickly replied she did the same thing with her car keys just last night. Haha. #girlbrain

Have you noticed these silly things happening once you started hrt? Got any silly stories? I’d love to know it’s not just me that’s cray cray! ?

Yes I have noticed these silly things happening to me alot as well.  My favorite is you go walking into a room with a thought on your mind as to why you are going into the room and once you get into the room you start looking around and talk to yourself asking why again did I come in here.

Another thing I have also noticed is thinking that you need to go to the grocery store and you know what you need to get and when you get there, you end up getting others things then what you actually needed and you get home and realize that you need to go back to the store to get the one item that you need to cook.

Then of course picking up your phone or sun glasses and having them in your hand and you start walking around your house looking for your phone to then realize that it has been in your hand the whole time.

Lot of Love

Hahaha!! Haven’t had that one yet. But I’m sure I will.

I think we sometimes do become a little scatter-brained at times but more important as women we allow ourselves to look at and process the full spectrum of emotions and experiences.  Guys may get frustrated about certain things but would never admit to it.  (never show weakness!)

I believe that syndrome is called Airheadedness. :D Most all girls get it at one time or another. Or in my case all the time.

I’ve been there, done that. I have lost sunglasses on my head, I’ve even once was looking for my phone while talking on it. Yeah ... lol

I also have a hard time picking out individual items in a cluttered mess and I’m always yelling at my boyfriend to throw crap away.

There’s been more then once I fed up and threw the entire pile into the garbage.

I've been that way even before HRT...got teased by guys for it to..... But now I just laugh at myself when it happens. I have 5 pairs of rading glasses for just this reason. And the reserve pairs are all stored in one spot. Half the time it is just where I left them and they just hide in plain sight.

Lolol. That’s too funny. Luckily I don’t need glasses to this point. But I see many of my coworkers and their piles of cheaters hidden in our garage meeting area.  ?

My favorite airheadedness epidode is looking for my cup of coffee I just made...

I mean seriously. It's really hard to find something that's in your hand! It's the perfect hiding place!

In all of our defense, things are sneaky and hide in plain sight.  At least that's the excuse I always use!

Been there, done that! I can make a list for groceries, leave it at home, remember everything on the list till I walk into the store. If I come home with something I  actually needed I consider it's a bonus! Last night I went to the store for a few items and when I got back in the house I couldn't find my wallet anywhere, even in the car. Drove back to the store ( about 5 miles) and asked them to keep a lookout for it. However when I got home I happened to look in the same place in the car that I know I looked before and there it was.

Ok... This is just nutzo!

I was going crazy looking for my glasses. I had to goto doc and Lyft is 5 minutes away. I am getting rather slathered up whenShawn hands me my makeup mirror.

THEY WERE ARE ON MY FRIGGIN' NOSE!!!

OMG I was mortified!!!

I've done that.  We get so used to seeing clearly that we forget we must wear glasses to see...

Great! Ah, the wonders of airheaded dysphoria!

My best friend for decades... Changed trains on me. He won't talk to me. The video he sent me states that he and I are "once upon a time best friends" and on different tracks now with TOTALLY different destinations.

In that state of mind, with my partner pissed at me, I board the bus to goto ULTA.

I left my card wallet on the bus. $100.00!!!

I was going to splurge on makeup and get some black hose for my new Black gown. I just got new heels for a Trans XMAS party I was invited to. Now no hose! No bus pass to get to party....

And no money for a cocktail. The place is posh...

Party is tonight...

I'm doomed...

Ok.... Here we go again. I called bus company to see if my card wallet was turned in. YES!

WOOOHOOO...wait.

My bus pass is in the wallet. HMMM...

So if I see go see my trans case manager and he gave me a ten ride pass. Perfect. Four busses to get to the busline office.

There's a major fire right at the intersection of three of the busses so that three bus trip turned into a 5 bus journey plus roughly 5 miles of walking IN HEELS.

Now... I get to the office and go get my wallet only to discover I left my clutch on the same frigging bus I left my wallet on. OMG! TOTAL Val girl blond moment!

Rinse and repeat... Sheeesh! So now tomorrow I get to go BACK to the bus office to get my clutch now!

-what the heck-!?!?!?

This time, since one of my transfers is 100 yards away from Ulta, I can go shopping!

Finally... Three days later!

I bought a nail hardener on sale and kept the box.  After a month I cannot find it anywhere. The box is there but no bottle.  I go back to the store and they are selling another nail hardener at a reduced price, since the store was closing out of business. So I bought it and took it home. I look at the original box and it is the same thing I had before. So I am real happy. Right?  Until I am looking in my purse for something and find the original bottle. In my purse that I searched twice looking for it.  So I keep the original in my purse and the new one on the bathroom sink. I guess you could say I got two bottles on sale. Ha!

I have done the glasses on the head thing many times. Also I have gone into a room and forgot why, gone back, remembered why, gone into the room and forgot why, gone back, remembered and finally got what I wanted.  Crazy stuff. I am also losing part of my memory. Names of actresses I grew up watching and knew everything about (Marilyn Monroe) I cannot even remember the name. Like the Jane that was supposedly Marilyn's rival, When actually they were good friends and went to each others houses for barbecues and stuff. I could not even think of Jayne Mansfield's name. Even though I had a pair of cat slippers, one Jean and the other Jayne.

I used to watch Highway Patrol all the time. Saw the guy's name every time it came on. But last week had to look it up. Broderick Crawford, with the gravelly voice. Stuff like this drives me nuts.  I know these things as well as all the names I have had in my life. But for some reason my memory suffers a block and I draw a blank. What gives? Old age? Hormones?

I notice that my frustration and temper are become more frequent..Esp with L.A driving. My road rage is through the roof. I also find myself being super helpful lately to the point were my friend tells me that I am been taking advantage off. I know I def don't have the energy for a committed  thought lately. I am always tired, anxious or stress about something, but I have no idea what. C'est la vie

For those who wear glasses ever reach up to adjust them and realize you took them off.

Odd that this topic showed up today. With the warmer weather approaching, I decided to do something about my legs. When I was in my twenties, my legs were quite hairy, but have become less hirsute as I age. I decided to mow the hair with my manscaping device to make eventual shaving less messy. This made me realize that due to a lack of limberness and practice, shaving might be a major undertaking, so today I applied depilatory from mid-thighs to my ankles (no hair on feet, fortunately). The odor wasn't as unpleasant as I expected (didn't use a common store brand*), and the results were gratifying. I'll try it on my chest next.   *I'm not sure whether mentioning product names is allowed – think of a musical by Lerner and Loewe.

Hi all, Thanks for the warm welcome.     Yeah... The UK flag is a mistake.  I didn't notice it until I came on here today. I'm from Illinois, in the U.S.  I can't seem to find the way to change it in my profile.  Moderators?  Any ideas?     I met with my therapist today.  She thinks that this will be a good place to get started, and I am hoping I can find some support and offer support.     I'll be checking in from time to time :)

It has been about six weeks since I started the HRT journey. Today I officially "upgraded" to a new level of patch. I can't believe how giddy I was when A) the doc responded so quickly to my request for a new prescription, as I thought as I was going to have to wait a few weeks for my current one to run out; B) the pharmacy filled my new prescription so quickly -- in like an hour from when the doc emailed; and C) when I got home and put the new patch in place as quickly as possible...   Six weeks in and I would say it is subtle changes at best. But there are changes. They are just hard to describe... Sometimes I get these little rushes of emotion or mini-euphorias. Is that the hormones? I am emotional anyways, anger included ... I've noticed very subtle changes in my chest, like are my areola getting bigger? Or is it just my imagination? Are things getting smaller downstairs? Again, or just my imagination? I feel ... different ... yes a little more feminine...   I think it has surprised me how much I actually want a female chest. I keep checking it out all the time. That is brand new! But it's like I look down, notice what appear to be some changes and I say to myself, "This is going on with my body, and I like this! A lot!" Nothing ceases to amaze me anymore. I am such a mess, lol...    I feel like this patch upgrade is going to bring about more noticeable changes. Like I am really in the game now. Like the first part was just a warm up. Maybe not. But that's what it feels like.   So far, no problems with the patch itself (aside for forgetting a couple of times to take the old patch off when I put the new on one. I went a whole day once with a double-patch). Internally I think I am so ready for the next step... Externally, I feel like I am continuing to poke a hornet's nest, a den of scorpions and a mama bear all at the same time.

No one that hasn’t gone through the self perceived shame and guilt about the feelings we’ve had cannot understand 1. Why we need a therapist we trust. 2.  Why we suddenly need to talk to them. 3. Why things set us off and throw us into a bout of extreme depression.  4. Why we feel threatened even when we aren’t in immediate danger.  That threat may be only in our mind but it’s our need for reassurance.

Be careful about software bundled with your antivirus! Most likely they are using it to spy on you. As far as I know the only 2 VPN providers that actually protect your data (and delete it as soon as possible if they keep anything at all) are Proton VPN and Mulvad VPN - the latter one actually had their servers stormed by law enforcement and they walked away with nothing (cause Mulvad had no customer data to offer). I would avoid antiviruses altogether tbh, they're not a magic cure for internet safety and the built in one from Microsoft does its job well enough. If you're not on WIndows you don't even need one - just be smart about what you download of course.   Your web browser asking you to turn it off is probably because the browser would prefer to know your real location, just ignore it or pick a better browser, like Firefox.

It was stupid of me, the cop was in front of me in a u-turn cut in a spot I know about. I was running a little late because of the slow truck, and the cop happened to be there today. It is like one of only three places for a speed trap on my commute. I usually don’t speed as I try to leave enough of a time buffer in the morning.

The worst possible scenario is 4 points on my license, which a defensive driving course will negate it. I had considered getting a lawyer, but it is probably not worth the expense.
    • Ivy
Yeah, I was puzzling on that too…

Good luck maam 😊 I’ve experienced that they’ll lower the points , if you show up in court and pay the ticket.
