Padded Bra

Recommended Posts

So I am attending my first Transgender Woman's Group meeting tonight. I'm super excited and wanted to dress feminine (jeans, boots, and sweater). I don't normally dress in a feminine manner when I go out, mostly just jeans and boots. I was thinking of wearing a bra underneath the sweater. I don't have any natural breast development at this point, but I have a padded bra that gives me the look of having small breasts. My worry is that this will look unnatural or fake. Any thoughts?

Hi!  Great news that you're going a support group meeting!  Go ahead and wear your bra.  Its not fake to do so.  Adjust the straps to give a natural look and you'll be fine.  Have fun!

Hi Sara,  This is great news regarding your going to this new group.  I attended one for years back in the day and I'd be attending that group right now if I didn't live so far.  I hope you have a wonderful time at your new group.  Some of my fondest memories of my life were attending that group, meeting others, making friends and getting great information regarding what my journey was all about.  In fact, I haven't felt that accepted until signing up here.

When I attended this group, I would'nt have have been caught dead without a bra.  You'll fit right in with your padded bra.  You'll see for yourself once you arrive.

Best of luck,

Susan R?

Thank you both for the encouragement. I'm really excited for the meeting, but also more than a little nervous. I suffer from social anxiety disorder so anytime I meet new people I'm a huge bundle of nerves but I feel a little more relaxed now.

Don't worry.  Everyone in the room will have been in your same place at one time.  There will be no shame or guilt.  Being you is what its about.  I hope for a good report in the in the morning!

I used to be that way myself but after attending a couple of PFLAG meetings the nerves gave way to enjoyment. Just as Jani said, no one is going to judge you. I now look forward to meeting new people.

Brandi,

Thank you for the kind words. The meeting was a great experience. I met some interesting people; one woman lives in the same part of the city as me and another lady was also into TTRPGs (table top role playing games). It was fun to geek out about shared interests. It was so comforting to listen to people share about their experiences, both the good and bad.

Hi Sara,  I'm glad it was a nice experience for you.  Next time have all the anticipation & excitement without any of the worry.  For me, these meeting became a safe haven...especially when I was just starting out.  I bet you look forward to the next one.  Thanks for the good news!
