Started HRT yesterday!

It has been a long time coming, but I finally got to start HRT yesterday. It took just about six months to get the OK. I have a couple of other medical conditions that made starting a little more complicated. I have diabetes and a genetic condition that causes high triglyceride levels. I had to have bunch of testing and started taking a triglyceride medicine and my last set of numbers looked great and picked up my prescriptions yesterday. I'm so excited (and I just can't hide it)!

Cheers,

Yes, at first until your body and mind adjusts it will be a wild ride.

yes but when your mind and body does adjust it is so worth it, for me it was the mind emotions changing, an overwhelming feeling of calm that I can say I really never experienced before that almost becomes the norm at all times.

Hello and welcome.  Just buckle up and enjoy the roller coaster.  My mind and emotions and who I am are better in sync, but still for me just being on hormones for a year, I still get into that emotional  reck.  I am with you having other medical issues.  I am a cancer survivor and my Endo is being cautious on my hormones making sure cancer does not come back but I progress at a normal healthy rate.

Lots of Love

Thank you everybody for the wonderful responses. ? I do feel much better already, though I 'm sure that is mostly just the relief of reaching a goal that I've been working towards for a long time. The scientist in me is looking forward to finding out how my body and mind are going to react to the changing hormone levels.
