Seeing Changes

Hello All:

So I took a recent picture of myself and posted it on facebook of me rocking my leggings.  I am a leggings type of gal and just love how comfortable they are.  They are my go to wear for everything.  But with my picture, I have noticed that I can actually see changes.  I can see changes in my face and figure.

Here is a picture of myself pre-transition working in a dangerous field and me now.

You do rock those leggings!  Lovely!  And your hips look really nice -- is that part of the figure development you're seeing?  (Hard to tell from the "before" pic with the blue jeans and baggy shirt.)  Yay you!

I believe the hips are new.  Cause I was seeing on my figure where my upper torso is and you can see that I have curves.  And wow on my hips.  Thank you for pointing it out

Thank You Kylie.  I did not cut my hair.  I am just not wearing my wig.  I am trying to grow out my natural hair.

I’m guessing in six months or so you could have neck length hair. It took me about nine months to get shoulder length hair but my hair was never super short to start with and before I started HRT ?I started letting it grow out ahead of time. Just keep the heat away from your hair and be careful with the brush and comb.

Word of warning on the hair, it will actually be about 18 months to three years but it takes your E that long to fully change your hair from M to F.  My Estrogen based hair is finer than my somewhat bristly male hair, but it also regrew for me out of some Male Pattern Baldness (MPB) areas.  Don't stress if your hair brush comes out with larger amounts of hair in it for a while especially as it gets longer.  Its the male stuff reaching its maximum length and giving up the fight.

Vicky,

I totally wasn't aware of that, but I will say it is so odd, the last time I grew my hair out in my teen years it was super straight and thin. I cut it to like an inch right before I started hormones (Guess you could say, I was attempting to figure out what I was doing). Ive been on hormones about 6 months now, and just in the last month my hair started to become super wavy! I love it. I asked my hair stylist about it, whom does lots of trans people hair, and she said some of her clients report total changes with how their hair grows and such. I thought that was super cool!

My hair was shaved to the skin last thanksgiving. A year and a bit later it’s 8” long. And about 4 months into hrt I started seeing mpb subside. Now where I had no hair at all,  I have about 2” hair 3 months later! I recommend biotin too.  great for hair nails and skin too. And cheap on amazon.

You definitely look different now Amy! What an awesome feeling huh!?! ?

Thank you all.  I did not know about the hair.  I had my hair cut shaved in June.  And this is what my hair looks like not cutting since june.

I have been taking Biotin which I have seen a difference on my skin and nails.  My Endo has me on Vitamin B and Vitamin D since they were low.  Once a week I take Fish Oil and Omeg3.  I am also trying out women's Rogeain in a small patch in the top middle of my hair.

I have had other's say that they cannot believe how that was me when I used to drive the big rigs.  guess back then I was trying to be that super manly taking a dangerous job which did not feel right.  And now here I am, super duper happy and excited and being that girly girl that I have always dreamt.  I love being that girly girl.

I recommend biotin too.  great for hair nails and skin too. And cheap on amazon.

I got Biotin 10,000 500 tablets from WalMart for $6

Lots of Love

Amy,

My understanding is the extra Minoxidil is not recommended for women if do to possible complications during pregnancy or nursing.  You can get the men's formula much cheaper at Costco.

Take Care,

Hello All:

So I am super excited that I am seeing changes and just love the fact how I can see a figure and also how I am getting hips.  I have noticed that since I am getting hips, that it is alot easier to walk more feminine and it is just so natural.  I just love how I am so much more at eased and calm.  I love the fact that I am finally living as myself and I can see myself changing.  I am also very excited how I can see my boobs, and I dont have a problem calling them boobs and that they are getting shaped.

There is just 2x areas that I am still unhappy with and I am trying not to think much about it as to I love how I am transitioning and turning out.  The 2 areas that I am unhappy with are:

1. my face still.  Even though my face has changed, I am wanting FFS.

2. my birth defect below my waist.

Other than those 2 areas, I am super happy being myself now and living my true self.

Lots of Love

@Loreleiit always sucks getting a ticket for passing a slower vehicle. I'm guessing the police officer was some distance behind you until you performed your passing maneuver. My most costly ticket was from a similar situation, however we were heading out of town and the last straight stretch of road to pass the two slower vehicles ahead of me was still in a 35mph zone. I didn't see the officer behind me and as soon as I pulled out to pass he turned on his lights and siren. Since I was in the process of passing, I figured the next safe place to pull over was at the upcoming roadside park. He didn't accept that and wrote me up for passing two gaps, speed in excess of 15mph over, and failure to stop. He did not care to hear about any fellowship in public safety, and no professional curiosities would be honored.  I did go to court plead my case and the judge, and he did see my point of continuing to pass with the intentions of pulling over safely at the roadside park. He was very familiar with the location. This allowed him to drop the failure to stop charges, but I did have to pay the full 15mph over speeding ticket. So my lesson learned was to never pass when entering or leaving a small town or village.   Hugs, and good luck in court.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Marriage complicates things.  We think we know someone… but then we don't. My ex supports me, but we're certainly not married.  She actually took me out for dinner a couple days ago. But if I said I didn't miss her it would be a lie.  That part is still hard. The hard truth is I had to get away from her, to have the freedom to find myself. Maybe it won't be that way for y'all.

Thanks April Marie & Timi for the warm welcome.

Kymmie, it's hard to think of her as an ally when she's still re-posting anti-trans information. On the flip side my wife is supportive of everyone else in the LGBTQIA community, and reluctantly supporting me.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I'm sorry you and so many others in the military, were assaulted and bullied, just for being who you are. I'm glad that you've seen your old therapist and seem to be better since 2001.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

@Sally Stone This is a great thread and resonates with me as well. Please keep it going!   +1 on leg hair. Mine basically stopped growing on its own in my early 30s (cause unknown), but I prefer the look. Was never comfortable with body hair.

One FB post from an old friend who lives 250 miles away and has no idea of any of this, and a news article this morning about someone with multiple mental problems  assert that transgender people are controlled by demons.   Me not happy.  Can't reason with some people.
