Shoes (heels)

Hello All:

So I want to ask on how difficult is it to wear heels?  I know that I am 6ft and I am a little nervous on wanting to get heels since I am so tall, but I have seen alot of cute outfits paired with heels that I would love to wear the same outfit and heels.

Any Suggestions

Others will have more outside experience than me, I have only done short walks in boots with wide short heels, but isn't difficult Amy.

I would suggest avoiding thin stiletto heels and starting with wedges if you have never worn them at all. And avoid walking down steep hills or on grass - there is nothing graceful about those!

It isn’t difficult but you need to be used to walking on your toes and not the ball of your foot.

That said if you go for a very large heel it will be more difficult.

Your feet can also start to hurt if you buy a improperly sized shoe. Make sure you have the correct size even if it is big.

I've worn heels, perhaps not stiletto but 4" thin heels.  You don't just put them on your feet and away you go.  Watch women wearing heels.  they don't walk heel toe and they don't walk with each foot straight ahead.  Heel toe like a man in a mens shoe will quickly break the heel off the shoe, they aren't made for that.  Also a woman in heels walks with shorter steps and put one foot in front of the other or even crosses over slightly.  Besides being easier to walk in heels with a slight cross over step, it also gets the hips moving.

Wedges and big blocky heels are easier to start in but you still have to practice before you head to the mall.  I find that places like Pay Less and Shoe Dept tend to have some larger sizes because they buy up left overs and the large sizes don't sell as fast in the regular stores as sizes 7-9.

It's not hard but like most things, you need to practice, whenever I was home I would put them on around the house and wear them all day doing little things around the house. Eventually you get good at it. I started with smaller heels and now i can pretty much wear anything and walk confidently. You will do great, i would suggest wearing them around the house until your comfortable.

I am 6’ 1 1/2 “ and wear size 16 shoes. Like others said get some and practice around the house. If you start with 2-3” heels they are not bad. Some men’s boots I have are 1 1/2” to 2” heel. I have one pair of 4” heels they are not bad but I wouldn’t go more for me. I love heels and would wear them all day if I could. Practice and happy walking.

I have a pair of 3 1/2-4" stilettos (?) I have no real problems with walking in them. Coming down stairs is a little unnerving. I just take it slow and easy.
