This is about the same percentage of Bishops there as in the Episcopal Church here in the U.S. who feel this way today.  Not a large percentage and most extremely old or in extremely conservative areas.  They have the same issues and red herring issues as we have in the U.S.  Except for the fact that Church Of England Arch Bishops become part of the House Of Lords and who do have some governmental influence, they are simply three years behind the Episcopal Church which before the U.S. Revolution was part of the COE.  While Queen Elizabeth could become involved in this, she does not have a history of doing so, and is generally sympathetic to LGBT issues.  The article has some misdirection in its emphasis and brings up issues not in the COE action that started this.

Note -- Here in the U.S. Episcopal Church, I have received this rite.  Never once was gender an issue really except everyone in the process knew I was Trans and that was why I wanted to change my name.  Name changes are routine when a person enters a Monastic order which both COE and TEC bot have and recognize.

Although she would have influence, she does not get involved in politics and general running of things. I suspect if there was any input at all it would be via a lessor royal, but is extremely unlikely, even though she is head of CoE.
