She has a point. It’s very upsetting to think that on the one hand they say she’s a man then arrested her for being a woman? I’m sure she didn’t get to go to girl jail either.

Yes this shows there is a double standard.  In the defense of the state, it appears they will change designation when full surgery is completed and she stated she had had partial.

With this being from the Daily Mail, which is a British gossip sheet of the "spectacular", I am sure some other facts are missing as to why the indecent exposure term in jail was that long.  Tennessee is backwards on the surgery change issue and one of the few states that demands full GCS these days.  The Breast Augmentation would be enough in most other states.  There are even two states that will not change gender at all, even with surgery, so it is a problem to be sure.

We have got some really wild stuff from them lying around here in other posts and some member's descriptions of them are border-line on being allowable here.  :goodone:?

I think they made that public service announcement simply because it was a controversial topic and quite likely the lady has a solid lawsuit in play. I’m a little offended by how daily mail intentionally misgendered her with the whole “born a man” because we all know you don’t suddenly come out of the womb with a full beard, a low voice etc. It’s tailored to create a negative response. I’m concerned so much about things like this happening to me that I’m willing to move somewhere that isn’t as stacked against transgender people to begin with. Then the largest marker obstacle will be my birth certificate which I have no idea what to expect because it isn’t on the mainland, it’s a tiny island in the South Pacific.

Omg! I just looked it up and I can get my birth certificate changed without GCS! I only need letters from certain professionals to state that I identify as female! Happy happy joy joy!

Josie - the daily mail aim to offend, they are in the same category as the Sun, Daily Star, Record and Mirror - tabloids found lurking on coffee tables.  I tend to stay away from the tabloids if I can - they were only good when they were used to wrap chips (fries) in, and even that's a happy past memory! You'll find more truth in the Harry Potter novels.

I can’t even see eating chips wrapped in that paper, who wants all that colored ink on their fries? Lol. Maybe I’m a typical American but I never understood the allure of wrapping fried food in newspaper knowing that the ink transfers to everything. There’s no quaint nostalgia in that, maybe butcher paper or brown paper.

Hahahaha, Josie you sound horrified!  The chips were always in a plain wax paper bag then wrapped as a parcel in the newspaper, which doubled as a tray while you were eating.

The whole thing would then get binned and no plastic was involved, and ink never used to run in quite the same way. It was just a way of being frugal.  There is a scent trigger of the vinegar combining with the smell of the newspaper though that just triggers happy nostalgic thoughts!

Nothing wrong with being typical in some ways! As a Scot I could never see the need to put fried food on sticks!

In the UK if you were poor enough (and old enough) newspaper also doubled as emergency loo paper. Though some would argue that the contents never really changed.

Lol. I remember my grandma telling me that she used to take the old sears catalog and that was toilet paper. I’m sure it didn’t work as well as the paper we have today. It’s quite a bit stiffer and doesn’t quite get everything taken care of. My first thought was how did they wipe up front? Must have been luxurious!

Link to comment

Not sure which is more concerning; the original post, or the thought of wiping with the Daily Mail. I feel like if I used the Daily Mail as toilet paper, I'd catch a disease that would give me an insatiable attraction to Nigel Farage. ?

Actually, the thought of that makes me feel quite ill... ?

I nearly spat out my coffee! Thanks for that! ?

I probably couldn’t see myself attracted to anyone named Nigel. It’s got an almost super villain ring to it.

Yup - pretty much spot on.

Bain’s, Chadsworth, Cornwall, Drummond, Dirk, Farnsworth, Lester, to name a few all seem kind of creepy and pretentious.

Josie - you've nailed it.  The man would make your skin crawl just by walking in the room.

So, I am curious. Is the Governor going to mandate vaginal or penile recognition photos before one enters the restroom? Considering the Governor has no balls to do the right thing, will he have to pee against a tree outside? Inquiring minds would like to know. I love it when the job recruiters contact me about the wonderful jobs available in Oklahoma. It is so much fun telling them there is no way I will ever go to Oklahoma. When there are no workers, then they can shutter the place.

Ngl, probably Sonic the Hedgehog, the Beatles, or the Monkees. Those are the three subjects I know the most about so I could drop hours of info on them.

Thank you! I'm out of coffee so I have been drinking hot tea instead. Looking forward to the 1st. It's crazy that we are almost in May. This year has flown by really quick! Good to hear that y'all got to sleep in. Hope you have a good weekend too!

It's nice to care about others but you need to live your life as you please. No one be your only source of happiness. Love yourself and don't look back. I lost over 40 family members it hurts but apparently, they didn't truly love me. True love will always be there through the thick and thin. I can honestly say that HRT has made me think in ways that I never thought I would. I get myself some shoes or clothes every month because retail therapy not only helps but it is a reward to myself to show love. I have over 100 dresses. I have a whole walk-in-closet full of clothes and 67 pairs of shoes. I love who I am. I was born in 84 so not all people in the 80's think that way. As far as the name just take your time and be happy with it. I knew I loved the name Ashley. Take care and welcome!

Congratulations Sam,   The common saying her once someone starts HRT is: “Enjoy the ride.”   Best wishes, stay positive and motivated    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

WOW @Ashley0616 it’s good that you have skills to treat traumatic injuries, as well as the ability to remain calm while managing others needs to get yourself and the boys ready to go to the hospital. Proud mama bear skills. I’m glad that he’s doing well.    Meanwhile back at the ranch, we slept in and I’m just now finishing my 3rd cup of coffee.    Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Well yesterday was not fun. I was getting ready to make dinner and I hear screaming and crying. I look over and my son put his foot through glass. He gashed near his Achilles tendon. Thankfully that is intact. I didn't freeze for a second. All of my military training came into play. I doctored him up and got Jett ready and myself and we headed to the ER. He is doing ok today. He says he is in pain but doesn't need Tylenol. He is a tough cookie!

Hi,   It's seems today is my trans birthday.  I'm beyond excited. Just picked up my testogel from the pharmacy. Although I naturally have doubts as I'm sure do we all, they are rapidly disappearing. Yesterday I was so nervous I kept claiming I'm not trans, despite grinning like a fool knowing I can pick up my prescription the next day. I'm shaking and on the verge of happy tears. I will put on my first sachet this eve. Thanks so much to this forum and kind words from people. This is the first forum I found when I began seriously questioning.

While the Soviet Union did not end up being the source of all evil, I believe that history has shown that Joe McCarthy generally was right. There ARE all kinds of Marxists slithering around. And if that had been dealt with firmly 75 years ago (or more) the nation wouldn't be in the shape that it's in now.    And while I generally oppose the idea of intervening in foreign affairs, the world probably would have been better off if we had taken care of issues in Russia and defeated the Bolshevik Menace back in 1919. God bless the memory of Admiral Kolchak.   Getting back to project 2025, my belief is that Republican efforts are inappropriately focused on trans folks. A minority of a minority does not wreck a nation. But it is easier to focus on trans folks because they can look like they're doing something. They don't have to address the real problems, and really they don't want to address them because they would have to address themselves.  They would also need to admit that the 50 State version of the USA cannot be saved.
