Went bra shopping and...

Ashlee

Recommended Posts

So I went bra shopping yesterday and guess what happened. Nothing. Nothing happened. Nobody even looked at me or noticed me. I bought 2 really cute, small but cute bras. Kept my head up, didn't feel or act nervous or anything. Had confidence.

So to any girl out there afraid to go get what she wants, go get it. Walk in with confidence, keep your head up and proudly buy what you want. Take time to make sure It fits so you don't have to return stuff. (I use too grab, pay and run only to be disappointed when I got home)

Anyways, go get it. You are beautiful, you are someone special. Be proud!

On a side note, my bras cost over $1000 because I somehow ended up with a new pretty pink phone during my shopping excursion lol.

Wonderful Ashlee, except you blew the budget with the phone!  You're right about being confident, you rock it!

Lol, the $1000 bra!?! Well as long as you are happy and found something that makes you happy then good on you! Phones are a worthwhile investment, so getting a better made phone instead of a cheap one can pay you back in dividends if you use it as a tool and not just a toy. I’m guilty of that too but don’t feel bad about it because I can do a lot on this phone including eventually having a side income. That’s the excuse I gave myself anyway. But yeah. Glad you had confidence bra shopping because it makes me feel better about shopping for such simple items like that. I’m a scaredy-cat but I’m going to have to get over it.

That is awesome Ashlee.  Reminds me when I went bra shopping in VS and I even had a VS employee measure me and help fit me so I know that I got the right size bra.  Just keep your head up and be confident and should not have a problem.

Lots of Love

Ashlee, up until this week and throughout my entire marriage, I never owned a bra.  My wife and I have been shopping for "all things girlie" this week and bras were on that list.  I did buy a few but I'm really enjoying these "bralettes".  There are so many different varieties too.  They fit so comfy and if you buy the right one they look and feel amazing.  These bralettes are sort of new to me.  I don't remember owning one 35 years ago.  Do any of you wear these?  With my breast just starting to fill out, they feel wonderful.  I rarely hear anyone talk about them but I absolutely love wearing them.  My wife likes me wearing them too which is always a plus.

These are the pull on type if I recall.  I initially started with pull on sports bra's but quickly found them annoying to take off, particularly when I got hot and bit sweaty.  After I "grew a bit" I bought a real rear clasp bra and have only bought that type since.  As I'm tall finding one's with long enough straps is tough but I recently found the right material to extend them so they are much more comfortable now.

That said, when we're not quite filled out it seems these are a great way to get some support as they come in all manner of band width and cup sizes.

I was so scared even just buying jeans but it went away. I valued clothes that fit more than a strangers opinion of me and my shopping habits. It really is a lot of stress gone?

I think that's the key to it. Just shopping like a person needing something. Not really thinking "I hope nobody sees me" or "do I pass" or anything. Instead I think"oh my, this is cute" and "oooohhh I love this or that" it has become fun. I love love love shopping. ?☺️

Yes, the sooner the better. I think the stress of it is truly unhealthy. Im dealing with anxiety issue because of it but slowly not caring about opinions has helped so much with the anxiety. ?

Lol. Yes, blew the budget by about $900 lol. The phone is great though. It's a pink note 9. It's so pretty. I love it.?.Im a creative photographer and the note9 has 3 camers. The main camera is the best camera in the world on any phone.

I'm a happy girl

Yes, me too. I also use the bras with a clasp up front. I have a push up that clasps it the back. I ordered it online. I hate it. That's why I went bra shopping. Now I know my size and loving my bras ?

I’m not able to get a bra yet but I’ll be glad to get one soon. I’ve been noticing the girls jiggle a little more than usual and I know with the cold weather they can get chafed so that’s huge on my list. Plus even with my small cup size I have just enough to get a push-up with inserts to make some good cleavage, which is something that will help with dresses and plunge cut shirts. So yes I’m going to need to get past my fears and just go for it.

I've recently seen some of these bralettes that have the look, feel and comfort I like but with an easy to "put on/take off" front clasp on Zulily.  I bought some with adjustable straps and they are wonderful.  A few adjustments and it seemed made just for me.

i can't believe all the different styles that are available these days.

I grew up trying to live female and my best friend has grown up trying to live male.  Now we're switched lol. I love taking her clothing shopping especially for under things.  She helps me find what fits me and I help her find cute bras. It's fun to go shopping with friends if you can.

I love shopping with my friends, well or without them.....well I just like shopping I think lol. It is fun with friends, and then lunch and stuff. My girlfriends are cis and bi. We're a mixmash. It's funny because one of my closest girlfriends has really short hair and doesn't wear makeup and wears Jean and teeshirts so we strut around as us. Me as feminine and her as not. Me and 3 of my besties are shopping Sunday  having lunch and then ice cream. Fun fun times.

That does sound fun! I’m trying to get there this summer with some of the people I’ve become acquainted with.

I love clothes shopping now. Either alone or with friends. Either way. I don't care or even feel wierd at all anymore. I don't know if people are staring or not either. I haven't really paid attention in a while. If I could give advice I'd say just go get what you want. I don't think people even care, even in my local redneck town. I've kinda became sarcastic to "haters". I'll hold up a bra and thong together and ask a stranger if it matches and if they think my boyfriend would like it. You should have been there when I came out of the dressing room in these shorts and asked my friends what they thought. Yup, I just don't care anymore ? I'm not going to be pushed back in the closet by anyone and/or their ignoring opinions. I'm proud. Yuppers. A strong independent proud trans woman.

Hey Ashlee. I really like those shorts. I got a couple of shorts last year and can't wait to wear them! And as far as everyone else goes, I really don't care what they say or think. This is me and one one can change it nor will I change for anyone. Even my own mom or family. Hugs all!

I wonder if there will be law enforcement procedural shows coming this fall. I can imagine Law and Order: Genital Crimes Unit, or perhaps, FBI: Domestic Genitalia. Then again, maybe they will dedicate a CSI program about the dedicated members of the Oklahoma State Police Genital Screening Unit. Good to know that those Oklahomans have their priorities squared away.

Protections? Well, when they mandate that some who is transgender can get facial and genital electrolysis paid as it is essential to affirming care, or when they mandate and pay for facial feminization surgery, speech therapy/voice affirmation surgery, I will believe that the order is effective. One of biggest hurdles for many transgender individuals is the cost of care. I remember when my one insurance company tried to say that my speech therapy and voice surgery were "cosmetic". I remember when they blocked paying for my facial surgery. I remember the fight I had to get electrolysis. These procedures could save someone's life if the procedures help the individual successfully transition, and are no longer misgendered.

I don't think it should be.  Nor do I see Project 2025 as pushing Christian nationalism.

The agencies are supposed to work for him.  The problem, as conservatives found out in Trump 1, was they will ignore the president and do their own thing.  The agencies are supposed to be under his control.   Congress delegated some of its law making authority to the agencies, which is another problem.   The bloated federal government needs to be trimmed.  Dept Education is worthless - test scores have dropped since it was instituted in the Carter administration consistently, and it is currently implementing Biden's woke agenda more than doing anything else.

I hope to eventually wear a suit for dance but don't know what exactly to look for. I feel like jumpsuit is safe option but I have been interested in wearing button up and formal pants. Is there a certain brand i should look for or sites I should look at for tips? My mom is not exactly keen on me wearing too masc clothing like suits just yet but is okay with jumpsuits. Also is there hair styling tips availible, my hair looks like image below. I might be able to get shorter haircut like pixie but am not sure yet.

It’s never been about him, but he is the Presidential nominee for the Presidency that starts in…2025. I don’t see a lot of conflation that this is a “Trump doctrine”, it a doctrine that benefits him surely, but it is a plan to instill crony governance and enact very Christian conservative (if not purely Christian nationalist) “order” on the country. If you don’t see this as the Right doubling down on Big G government, I don’t know what to tell them. Getting rid of agencies and giving the authority directly to the Executive isn’t shrinking government. It’s consolidation power.

It is the made up ideology they believe trans people are pushing on the world, those “poor young girls who are being coerced into believing they are men” and the “perverts who put on dresses and think they’re girls”. The anti-LGBTQ+ movement came up with the term. Being trans = you believe in trans ideology/transgenderism, supporting trans people = the same.   In the end anyone that acts on or thinks gender is anything but what is in your pants is a “transgenderist”, why not make it a word if it’s not, there is no real grey area. Unless you acknowledge there is transgenderism, but use your knowledge to “correct it”.  So I guess there could be transgenderist conversion “therapists”.  Face it, we deface the America they want. Land of the Free and Home of the Brave? I think being out and queer is pretty brave. And freedom shouldn’t just be for those who push a narrow “Christian ideology” as the “true” governing model.

Rants are not a problem.  My favorite hobby! :)   What's out there is bad enough that I wonder why some people feel they need to embellish it.  Be alert.   Some of this will need to be fought in court if they try to implement it. If people are out to get me, paranoia is justified.  And this may not be the only document.   Abby
    • Ivy
Not in so many words, therefore it's not there at all.  Excuse my paranoia. And the states passing laws against us are nothing to worry about either. Having to change my gender back to male (like in Florida) is reasonable.  I should just accept it, I mean I was born with a dk.  So that "F" is lie, and a fraud.  My delusions need to be dealt with for my own good.   I'm just frustrated these days.  Just a bit of a rant.

You probably remember the Target PR fiasco.  I remember reading an account from a woman who shopped there.  She went into a stall and did her business, and someone came into the bathroom and began swinging stall doors open, and when she came to her stall, the woman peeked at her through the crack. "What are you doing?" "Checking for perverts." The writer was so stunned by the absurdity that she finished up ASAP and got out of there, while the other woman entered a stall and locked it, made sure it was locked, and locked it again.

      Nothing about eradicating TG folk.
    • Ivy
If 9 out of 10 parts are ok, that doesn't mean I need to accept the bad parts (that are aimed directly at me).  That seems suicidal.
    • Ivy
True, most of it has nothing to do directly with us.  It's the parts that do that are the problem.   I see the  few problematic statements as being a big problem.  Just because a lot of it may be okay, doesn't change that. Even supposing the rest of it might be good for the country, it doesn't help me if I'm being "eradicated".  I suppose I should be good with that, because it's for the "greater good".  If me being gone would please a number of people, then it's my civic duty to disappear, and vote to implement that.
