Fun Friday Night

I know I'm in my 40's now but I am just wondering at what point my idea of a good night without the kids became - shower and shave off body hair, moisturise and then sit and paint my nails in my pj's while I listen to music. ??

Total amateurs job but it will be coming off tomorrow evening anyway. I get a whole night and day to myself :)

What do you do when you have a free night?

Hi Dee, I go over to friends house for dinner / movie sometimes on my free nights, sometimes I have friends over here, and I cook and be the hostess. It's fun....

Ahhh, freedom to do as you wish is a wonderful thing!  Without kids around for quite some time we've done as we please without a thought.  There is certainly something to be said for laying about doing nothing, pampering oneself is always good.

I love cooking for friends - what is your go to dish?

You are not wrong Jani! - As much as I would never want to live without my kids I treasure the moments of peace. I will need to go grocery shopping tomorrow and do some basic household chores, but it will be a quiet weekend while the rain drums down on the windows. I'll even try to sit up for the Superbowl, which has become a tradition of mine to watch ever since I saw my first match in 2000. It was the only thing on when I came home from the late shift and unlike footy in the UK no one could tell me I didn't know what I was talking about. ?

Well since we're from the Pacific NW, an easy "go to" dish has been fresh grilled AK Copper River Sockeye, with lemon, and few other choice herbs, tossed salad, and home baked sour dough bread, we also get lots of AK king crab, we do live in this fresh seafood nirvana...

It's been raining here all day, so i've caught up on some of the chores around the house, I'm the part time maid ya know....

Enjoy your weekend, and the moments of peace Dee

I love salmon and I eat it once a week, frequently twice.   I can get wild Atlantic from Norway, otherwise its farmed.  Grilled with herbs, yum!

I am fortunate in that living rural allows me the luxury of accessing fresh seafood here too, though I have never liked salmon, I do love trout and sea bass. I went to a chip shop (sells battered and deep fried everything - think chunky fries and fish, sausages) on the Orkney Isles one summer that listed the name of the boat in the harbour that each menu item had come from. It is something I am spoilt with and struggle when I go to big built up areas, even my local butcher can tell me which croft my lamb was reared on and my eggs are collected fresh and left in honesty boxes at the side of the road. It has made me unintentionally snobby, but at least I support my local businesses.

I really love fresh baked sourdough bread, I used to make bread all the time, but it never seems to last when I get near it!

I am getting hungry now, I must go and do a shop!

Enjoy your weekends x

That sounds wonderful and seemingly a throw back to a different time using those honesty boxes Dee. I also love the fish and chips, we usually get the deep fried Halibut around here, lot's of Ketchup please....

Have a great day Dee and all !

"Exstatic" is an adjective that means feeling great rapture or delight. For example, "His wife gave birth to their first child, and he was ecstatic about it". Synonyms of "ecstatic" include rapturous, entranced, enthusiastic, and frenzied.

Absolutely. Being able to encourage, to help, others is so empowering. I've been helped by so many people over the years, I love being able to pay it forward.

Good morning, everyone!!   A busy day ahead for me - need to cut the grass and then pick up the clippings. The grass grows so quickly this time of year. I cut almost 7 acres so that will take up most of my day. At least I can get some sun on my legs and arms!!   Time for another cup of coffee as I catch up here.   Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given.

I started shaving my legs years ago - I started getting an occasional mild contact rash on my shins. That became my excuse to shave them for both me and my wife. Over time, the rash didn't expand...but my shaving did. Full legs....groin......chest......and finally my arms. Keeping the rash at bay was my excuse until I came out to my wife. Now I typically do a full shave on Sunday mornings. The hair is lighter but I just feel better with it gone - it helps with the dysphoria and dysmorphia. I will also typically do a chest touch-up mid week since I notice the growth more there.   I wish someone would invent a pill that would stop hair growth everywhere except on your head.

Good morning.   im not sure where the time went.  I had a decent nights sleep,  didn’t  tell Alexa to let me sleep another 5 minutes,  I didn’t do anything extra but it’s almost time to leave and I just got here.  Definitely only a one cup morning.    I have the overhead console out of the Ford. It needed some repairs with toothpicks and glue.  Been sitting all night t for the glue to harden. I’m always to impatient with glue but not this time.  I want it to hold. Ok the next owner won’t be able to change the lightbulbs however in my defense, the are led so they will likely still work when the car goes to the salvage yard.   gotta go. Not as much on my plate at work today but it’s always busy.   Willow

Yes, my programmer friends and I think that antivirus software is a virus.  It's constantly searching your system and slowing it down.  If you install your own OS and software on your machine, and you make backups of your personal files, then you can recover from viruses in an hour or two.  My computer is 10+ years old and is working as good as the first day I had it.   As long as my computer is doing what I want it to do, I don't care if someone is spying on my system.

If you get a ticket, always say not guilty and go to court. Much of the time, the officer will not show up, and often the district attorney or the judge will not want to take the time. They ticket harvest because most people just agree to the fine and send them a check by mail.   If you are not a commercial driver, Most states also have a ticket forgiveness program. You take a little easy Driver's Ed Course, and it doesn't go on your record or increase your insurance prices. Explore your options!
