How do I...? For trans males

How do I prove to a GIC that I am living as a male or have been for years, for them to allow me to start hormones? I have always dressed masculine, haircut is masculine, I am getting a packer, small enough breasted to wear bra tops which flatten my chest for now. What else do they expect me to do? Use a male name and start coming out to others maybe? Thanks in advance for any help especially from UK shores :)

Yes, living full time generally means having your name changed or at least using a male nickname and being out to those that you feel need to know.

If there is a way to obtain a photo Id with your new name that would be great.  Photos with the date imprinted on them,  receipts for male clothing would be a start.

Maybe a letter from a doctor? I know for surgery I need to be full time for more than a year and I get that proof from my therapist and doctor. They have to write a letter to give to the surgeon. Idk if you have a therapist or anything? Or even a pcp that you’ve talked to?

Can I ask, in the U.K. do you only need proof of living as a male to get surgery? Or do you need it to start hormone therapy? Receipts for men’s clothes, shoes, and haircuts at the barbers are easy! I still need to see a doctor/gender identity clinic however. Just at the beginning of the journey here. Thanks for answers so far guys!

Ouch.  As far as PROOF that I've been living "out", I'm screwed, I guess.  I've been out to my friends at my old apt and my current apt, but never bought briefs because my BFF gave me some.  Been wearing men's clothes for years and years, so don't have any receipts for those, though I get King Size Direct catalogs (male clothing for big and tall).  No barber receipts because my roommate shaves my head and I shave his.  My name, Scott, is only on some online games.

Am I screwed?  I did have my mental health med doctor put my name (Scott) in the record, though it's only in the verbiage, not patient title.  Will continue with that, but harder to change names, I heard.

Anyone?

Someone is assessed fully to determine whether they are subject to dysphoria etc. I am not first hand familiar with the process, but care is taken and a period of living as target gender is agreed. I suspect this is not a concrete time as situations will vary (most professional inteventions are set by guidlines, not in concrete, due to variance of situation).

I have found this website giving quite a bit of info which you and others may find interesting: https://www.lgbthealth.org.uk/

This booklet, from there, is a useful basic guide to many things:

The Real Life Time (Trial) of yore and lore does not have to have "proof beyond reasonable doubt" to get you going for things.  You are dealing with a therapist and not a Criminal Court Judge and jury.  You will not have to produce evidence or independent witnesses of your living the time.  The WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) Standards Of Care have also been relaxed and only really specify "a period of time" so that a therapist can see that you are learning the effects of your gender decisions.  Telling your therapist ABOUT your life in your preferred gender and your experiences coming out and living day to day in a perfectly ordinary way is what is truly important.  If you can talk about how your life has gotten better and how you feel better about yourself in terms of confidence, maybe even employment competence, and  just having fun, is what they are looking for in honest discussion of your life in your preferred gender.  A few selfies having good clean fun in life with friends and family are more important than dry old sales receipts for under drawers or work boots.  The real proof is a healthier mind in a healthier body that a therapist can evaluate in person.  If you have a diary or blog, keep it up, especially talking about your feelings and interactions with people as you enter your preferred world.  Be honest as you do, the therapist will spot a fantasy easily.

Ok, that is a ramble, but I am coming up on 10 years of full time as myself and those were the things that have made the biggest impact on my transition.

I had that going on with my last two partners who were 20 years older than me.  One of them looked older for her age as well.  I remember a couple times being in the grocery store a decade ago and having people ask "can I help you ladies with something?" and then I'd turn around with my red beard.  Well before I started transitioning, but my partner knew I was trans back then.   I struggle with this as well.  My music and political career can have a masculine edge to it that I don't like.  It's been really frustrating lately.  I don't like pushing myself on others or telling people what to do.  I've been running a website for 25 years and have virtually never tried to promote it or even look at any analytics.  I don't want to push it on anyone.  I put what I have on it and make it publicly available.  It's part of my production process.  It keeps me sane and if someone else can find it useful, then I'm happy to share.

I'm curious, but then if I am true to myself, I have a hard time being in crowds.  I love hearing great music, but being in an audience is such a turnoff for me that I don't go to concerts or bars.  I'm just very much a producer.  I actually like doing the dishes more than going to concerts because it's an active thing.

My therapist is trying a new tact. I've named my self protection self that ssays not eating or too much exercise because when I starting because oftrauma my protective self started and also at the time the name Shay came to me and is now part of my name.  It's not like having a split personality, just my primative self protection who is always there to help me. My therapist has Shay, me and him working as a team to assure her that I am safe and to start changing her role in my life so I protect me by eating right and exercising to maintain a heathy body. It is helping a little but we just started this a few weeks ago.

Good morning, everyone!!   Yesterday was lawn mower battery day. I've been nursing the battery on my Zero Turn mower for two weeks. It gave up the ghost when I stopped to refuel yesterday so I had to run over to the local shop to get a new one. And forgot my wallet so I had to drive home and back again.   Then, I was using the garden tractor with the bagger to pick up the clippings. I cut about 7 acres so it took me awhile. When I was done, I went to refuel it and, of course, it wouldn't start when I'd finished putting in the gas. I'm hoping it was just some corrosion on the cables - cleaned them up, gave it a quick charge and it started right up. We'll see if it will hold a charge now or turn out like the Zero Turn.   House cleaning day today. And then I'm going to just relax outside for a bit and enjoy one more warm day before our temps drop and rain comes in for the weekend.   Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given!!

Striking your head against the wall, you can lose 150 calories an hour. Blue color attracts mosquitoes in two times more than any other. Most toilet paper sold for home use in France is pink. In 2014, a missing woman on a vacation in Iceland was found when it was discovered that she was in the search party looking for herself. In 2005, Mark Zuckerberg unsuccessfully tried to sell Facebook for $75 million. Back then it was called TheFacebook. Strawberries can also be white or yellow, and some can even taste like pineapples! The Boston Marathon didn’t allow female runners until 1972. Banks have therapists known as ‘wealth psychologist’ who help ultra-rich clients, who are unable to mentally cope with their immense wealth.

I attend a medical day-centre in Texas for needed medical services. It's religious oriented, so not gender fluid friendly. I of course dress 100% in female attire yet androgynous to keep both "them happy", and I really don't mind.    I of course am imposed rules that no other participant is bound by. The examples are the allowed size of my backpack, or how many visits per day I can see my Representative payee.  The gender neutral restroom use was a compromise that all off us have agreed to.  Not being able to wear tanks tops or shorts that aren't "Bermuda length" are other examples of where I am restricted more than any other participant. "Bra talk" is strictly forbidden, even though their doctor and occupational therapist were the ones that told me I needed support due to neck pain.    I found myself being reprimanded by staff three times yesterday for very petty details, and they have constantly pushed for me to remove myself from the program voluntarily. I am of course someone not welcomed in the program, but federal discrimination laws prevent them from removing me. They instead are just making life miserable with the hopes that I will leave on my own.
