Picture And A Name Question

Hey there. Don't worry, I'm not going to have a long rambling update on my life or anything - things have been pretty stagnant lately, just materialistic stuff like high school graduation approaching and whatnot.

Still, I come bearing a more recent image of myself. It's not the best; I'm dressed up in my outfit that I was wearing to play Hamlet in my English project.

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i95/popr...massacre/S1.jpg

My hair's gettin' a bit shaggy, but ah well. How am I lookin, you think?

The second question I have is about a middle name. My "real", given-at-birth name is Brigette, so I've acquired the nickname "B". My closer friends call me by it, my family generally does, my nieces and nephews tend to. It's feminine sounding, I suppose, but it's still neutral - just a letter, after all, so I realized that maybe I can use it as sort of a transition name. Quinn is a big and awkward change from Brigette, so I figured maybe I could change my middle name to something that starts with a B, so that there can still be that common latch.

Up until now I've really decided and liked Quinn Adrian, but alas. That's an A. Any good B suggestions out there you guys think might work? Any ideas are appreciated.

Wow,

Looking good Quinn!

As to names they are such a bother - it would be so nice if our parents would just go through all of that for us again!

Here is a link to a names site that is cued up to male names beginning with B - there is also a UNisex option.

http://www.babynames.com/Names/search_resu...=0&meaning=

If you want to sound like royalty go fo Quinn Barrington - there are a lot of others so don't despare.

Love ya,

Sally (diminutive form of Sarah - meaning Princess)

write a load of names you think are OK .. and some you think are "bleh" on bits of paper.. screw them all up and stick them in a box... pick one.. then like it or not stick with it..

Kids don't get to choose their names, parents inflict them on us.. That's my method.. let random chaos chose.

Brandt

Brent

Beau

Bellamy

Bennett

Barrett

Bryce

Brannigan

And for the record, I had an online character that was named Brandt and his closest friends called him "B". and believe me, when they did it was anything but "girly" but then a lot of it will be dependent on "who you are" when you use it. If you feel girlish then it won't work and you'll feel upset.

Nice photo, Quinn. Are you seriously doing the part of Hamlet? How cool is that? That was always my favorite of Shakespeare's works.

You don't have to be in a hurry to find a name. Just find a few that are interesting to you and then just mull them over. Give each a little bit of time and testing. One will finally connect.

Okay, I never thought I'd ever say this, but just this once I wish I were back in high school and get the part of Hamlet.

Adorable, Quinn. The shaggy hair included. : )

Names...I would choose something with more than one syllable, because usually two one-syllable names together sound blunt and awkward. So that's my advice.

That's a cool picture. Congrats on graduation.

You kind of look like a Quinn Barrett I think.

Some more options...

Bayard, Booker, Brandon, Bristol, Brodie

Plus there are a ton more. Some of the other ones Evan suggested would sound pretty awesome too. Hope you find something you like.

I think Quinn Brandt sounds cool. or Quin Brent. I think everyone else gave some good ones. I did the same thing. My birth name is Rachel. I shortened it to Ray, then since a bunch of people were calling me ray, I used Raymond as my middle name cause I don't like Raymond that much, but I like being "Ray" and I also wanted something New, original for me. So Lewis Raymond Smith. I still like Lucifer though! -.- so away, since Ray can be a nickname for Rachel, I can sign things "Ray Smith" and not my birth name, and I can still be "Ray" without questions arising cause it's my middle name. :)

A few more B names:

Brendan

Barry

Bernard

Brian

Brigette's an Irish name, so you could stick with an Irish middle name too. I kind of like Quinn Brendan, myself.

I like Benjamin, but I don't like the short version...Benjie....

I have an electrician friend that goes by Benjie and it reminds me of a little dog!

Sorry...

Sometimes you need to think what some people might do with it - Benjamin is wonderful but are you ready to be called Quinn Ben?

I think that Quinn Baxter is beginning to grow on me.

Love ya,

Sally

I like Quinn Baxter a lot too. You pass really well by the way, and you don't even have to resort to cutting your hair :)

Hey everyone - I just wanna thank everyone who's commented. Your opinions are quite appreciated! Quinn Baxter doesn't sound that bad, I was thinking maybe Brendon; not sure yet...but still, thanks for everyone's comments.

I've never really put a full body picture here before I don't think. This was taken by me yesterday:

I love your shirt.

Why thank you. You gotta love Flash, you just do. I found the thing for like 2 bucks somewhere.

Quinn, you look good. I don't know how old you are, but you look biomale, no question.

Pól

Hey thanks a lot, that's a huge compliment. I'm 17, so I probably look a bit young for my age, but still...

dude you look cool

and good work on the hairy legs!

i havnt shaven mine in a year and a half and they aint as long as that

Haha, thanks. Yeah, I haven't shaved in...a little under a year, I think? The Italian in me is definitely good for something, even if practically no hair grows on the back of my leg...weirdest thing ever. Still, thanks.

I had the same thing going on pre-T. It seems to have resolved.

Ah, good to hear. Yeah, I figured it would. It's not a huge concern of mine, just a bit of a minor annoyance.

I've also noticed that any hair I find on my face, though obviously it's just the finest of fuzz, is...quite blond. Hell, my friend Cyn has darker hair above her lip than I do, and yet when I look at mine, it's very fine and blond. Some of the hair on my arm is blond, too. Is that a general thing to happen, does anyone think?

Been using the wok on the back deck a lot the last few months.  Just got another stock of udon noodles from Amazon and we are using those in the stir fry with onions, peppers and a spicy peanut sauce.  I did this often in the 90's too, but back then I was just using a standard Coleman camp stove instead of this high BTU wok burner.  I've had the burner for a couple years, but haven't been using it regularly until recently.

I’m a lefty. Learned to be a bit ambidextrous for certain tools that assume right handedness like scissors, but couldn’t write with my right hand to save my life.

Tangent, adjacent, opposite...  It's still rock n' roll to me.  I don't know about the "in god we trust" part of the money, but I like the lady with the scale.  And then I look left at the Indian statue on my mantel of Guanyin feeding a drop of liquid to the dragon at her feet.  In god we trust?  The lady with the scale?  Maybe this is too binary.  And then on the other side of Guanyin is that kind of pelican wood bird that sits two feet tall that I hauled back from South America through the Panama canal.  The beak broke in 1998 and I carefully saved the pieces (as I usually do) and attached them back about a decade ago.  I used a drill to make a small hole and then put a finish nail in there.  Then a hole on those two pieces that needed to be attached.  Upper and Lower beak.  There is still a seam showing.  I could cover that up, but the beak is a bright yellow and well, it's better with all the pieces in place and I don't mind seeing the crack.  I guess that is the tangent and the other two are the opposite and adjacent. -money  Why don't coders always code the "-" action in their search fields?  It's not that difficult!

Definitely points to learn and keep in mind.  A bunch of stuff I had put in mental "cold storage" thawed out a bit there and ready again to run through my mill.  As said, a bit long and as usual from her a tad bit challenging.  Overall I see it and can use it as a working hypothesis.

Yeah.  I like Nebula, that was where I watched it.   I posted the YouTube cause I figured more people could see it.

We agree on most of this... and the church/state thing is kind of a tangent anyways. Oops. LOL   I think it has long been established that all different kinds of groups have access to public funds. In my opinion, either everybody has access or nobody does. I would prefer "nobody."   Relying on public funds gives the government the power to take it away, and puts that power in the hands of whatever group controls the government at the moment... the news article that is the topic of this thread shows a clear example of that happening.  Organizations trust government at their peril.

More info on Abigail Thorne here: https://go.nebula.tv/philosophytube and, Dracula's ex-girlfriend, on Philosophy tube.   "The reason why Nebula is so cheap for what it is, is because there's no upper hierarchical group looking yo skim off the top. Imagine how much cheaper EVERYTHING could be if it was like that for every other service or product; if the money went straight to workers, not up a chain of command until it reached someone who did exactly "jack" to produce what's being sold.
