Hi all. I found a different depo estrogen that is much cheaper and the vial will last much longer. It is called estrogen vibrate. It is much more concentrated and cost about 44 bucks with good ex at cvs or just a little more at walmart. I did check it out with my doctor and she was ok with it and gave me a prescription for it. It looks like the same or maybe a little thinner and I did ask the pharmacist if it would got thru with as thin needle. She said it would. So I just wanted to pass that along for the ones that are on injections. Hugs all.

The problem with the estrodiol valerate is that it is not fully available in all 50 states.  Some states like AZ, CO, NM are so far on back order due to the shortage that they dont offer it anymore and so if you live in a state like that, you have to get either a compounded formula or the $200 delestrogen.

 

I have a few individuals from my support group that used to live in CA and they were able to get the estrodiol valerate and were paying $50 for it, but when they moved to AZ, they could not get it in AZ due to stock levels and shortage so they are compounding it which is still higher but cheaper than delestrogen.  

 

Some states can get the generic estrodiol and some states can't.

I was on the patch for 19 months and then became allergic to the adhesive and my endocrinologist switched me to Delestrogen injections twice a month. Is it really $200 a vial? Wow. I get mine through the VA and since I am 100% rated I don’t have a co-pay. I could not afford it if I had to pay for it.
