Transitioning questions for my male bros

So im Matthew. New to all this. Recently found out I'm trans. Im 29 . I want to definitely transition. Im not sure what to expect.. On t. Im like 5'4 and kinda worried if I'll lose my head hair. Was interested in bottom surgery too. Any suggestions guys?

Hey Matthew! You need to always remember that each guy's transition is different. Testosterone changes your appearance based on your genetics and that male chromosome that's already in you. So, about losing the hair; does it run in your family? Even if it does, there's a chance that you won't. Like, for my maternal side of the family, every guy has thick hair. My grandfather still has pretty much all of his hair and he's almost 70. However, for the paternal side, the guys start to lose their hair in high school, and most of it's gone by the time they hit 30. So, it's pretty much a 50/50 chance. 

If you do lose your hair, don't be too upset about it! Yeah, it sucks, but look at it like this: your body is changing like any other man! It is called "male-patterned baldness" for a reason. It's not fun, but it's something many guys go through, like having awful voice cracks when testosterone is starting to change things.

Hey, guys.  I'm just starting to transition and have been thinking about a lot of the same.  Pretty sure I won't lose hair (or not much), though; male pattern baldness comes down the maternal line, so if your maternal grandfather had a decent head of hair, you should be fine.  Mine kept his hair until his death at 87 and only had a TINY bit of thinning on his crown.   Not even enough to notice.  So good luck!

 

I can't wait to get on T; starting with my gender therapist soon and hoping to start T ASAP.  I'm an older person and just got insurance again.

I live in a tiny town in N Florida.  The closest gender therapist I could find is in St Augustine, about an hr away.  My BFFs are great with me being trans, but my remaining family (cousins) are all very conservative, so coming out to them should be a real winner.  But, hey; we deserve to live as the people we are meant to be, right?

same. my dad i feel wont be accepting. kinda worried. my last so didnt take it well either.
