am I 'trans enough'??

Somedays I'm happy and comfortable being "male" others I'm very uncomfortable. growing up I always played dress up wanted makeup and wanted breasts then when I really got into the whole gender identity thing it started to do this flip-flopping thing. I want my gender to be ambiguous, like, I want the beauty and things of a woman but want to sometimes be able to rock a beard/some body hair (if I was able to grow a beard). and with this whole thought prosses, it makes me feel 'fake' and kinda takes a toll on my mental health.

There are a lot of people in the trans community who will scream that you're not trans enough if you don't go whole hog.  Those same people will tell you you're not trans enough if you don't look and sound exactly the way they think they do.  I'll give you one guess as to what I think those people can do with their gatekeeping.

Yes, you are trans enough.  There are plenty of people who mix elements of both binary genders and are perfectly happy doing it.  And that is the entire purpose anyone should have.  If it makes you happy, run with it.

Well, with those feelings you are not Cis gender, so what do you have left?  I have done the surgery and grown the boobs with HRT which were my personal needs with no regrets, and to some I am not "Trans enough" since I have decided to not get electrolysis for my beard hair.  (No need really since I scarcely have ever had any.)   I also tend to be practical in the clothing I wear which means male clothing for some events and no makeup. Strangely, the only times I have been "read" as Trans were when I was wearing makeup.  I can wear clothing that says I am Trans and actual Cis people just think I am a supporter of Trans folk.  (The ones who say I am not Trans enough who have been read like the funny papers.) Just be YOU and who cares about the need for a label.  You are not Cis so what do you have left?

What wonderful answers above!  And which also reminds me of a point that really bothers me:  the need to pass.  I totally understand the personal safety reason for feeling the need to pass in certain environments and circumstances.  But if there's one thing we don't need to do, it's attempt to pass in order to make cis people feel comfortable around us.

Just my opinion, but I'm stickin' with it ?
