Hiding Gizmo

Hi everyone,

Well, I'm up to my old shenanigans again. My landlord is here working. He's going to do some painting in my place, so I had to try to hide my cat, Gizmo. Gizmo had been my cat for 11 years almost, and is the most precious thing in my life. Unfortunately, I'm not supposed to have a cat. My landlord is currently working very close to where I've got Gizmo hidden. So far, when I've been near there she's been really quiet. I'm very nervously hoping he doesn't find her. He hasn't said anything, but he often doesn't say anything right away. Hopefully when he  leave this evening I'll be able to start breathing again.

I've lost everything else I love in my life, my home in the National Forest, my Siberian Husky Lupi, my Black Lab Chemuhk. Gizmo's the last one. She keeps me from being all alone. She's helped me get through some really tough times in my life. Without her, I'm not sure what would have happened. Didn't sleep well last night, too scared. Guess this is what happens when you do things on the sly, like bring a cat into where it's not allowed. She's the last of my family though, family I live with that is.

I just wish I could get an apartment that allows cats and end this danger Gizmo and I live with. My credit rating is still too bad to get into a corporate apartment complex though.? It's a little better than it was due to my checking account and the fact that there have been no new defaults I guess, but it's still bad. One serious health issue puts my credit right back in the toilet again. Can't afford health insurance. Actually, with tax issues for no health insurance, my credit may already be right back in the toilet.

Just venting, under a strain here today.

Lots of love,

Timber Wolf ?

Hope everything goes well and you and Gizmo can soon relax. I lost my fur babies, a cat and my 2 dogs in the last 14 months, old age for 2 and a brain tumor for the other. I know how big a part of your life they can be.

Be well. *hugs*

Sara, I'm sorry for your losses.

Gizmo apparently was very quiet. My landlord didn't find her. However, he knew that I had had a cat, and asked where my cat was. Seems like the perfect spot for a lie. Something like, "Oh, I got rid of her.", maybe. But I guess my recovery program from addiction is just too powerful. I was like John Carry in the movie "Liar Liar", when he told the judge, "I can't lie!" Lies just don't seem to come out of my mouth. I told him where she was. He did not tell me to get rid of her. He did say he wasn't particularly pleased that I have her, but his biggest problem with her is the cat hair that gets into the hallway and on the stair tread corners. I guess I better start sweeping the steps. Any ideas on how best to keep cat hair under control? I sweep my floor, but only have a straw broom. Half the hair floats away when I sweep.

So far, so good, I hope.

Lots of love,

Sorry for your losses Sara :.; rest their souls ❤️

Sure he wasn't snooping? Not much you can do if he was, crooked landlords seem to get their way.

Those Swiffers might work, I think they attract hair staticly.

Thank you both for the kind words.

Regular old rubber gloves are good for getting pet hair off of fabric. You just rub your hand in circles and it balls up nicely.

You can also brush your cat regularly, with a pet brush,  to try and reduce the amount of loose hair.

Thanks Alex. Unfortunately, I live in Michigan, and Michigan does not legally recognize emotional support animals.?

I'm glad you and Gizmo made it through.  Congratulations on you honesty.  I can feel how hard that must have been but perhaps that was the reason your landlord let it go with a simple request to try to clean up the cat hair in the public areas. Now that we lost our cat Max it's only lab hair drifting into corners.  It is definitely a nuisance but she's worth the effort.

Maybe a slightly damp mop could help catch the hair.

I was going to suggest a damp mop as well but in lieu of that place a damp rag on the floor and use your broom to move it around.   I'm sorry you have to hide Gizmo but it was smart of you to tell the truth.

I am glad you have got over the initial problem. Pet hair is not easy to sort but a lesser problem.

I'm not really out of the woods yet. It all started from a city inspection last summer. My landlord was written up for a long list of violations and needed repairs. He received a citation for them and had to appear in court. Even so, he waited until the last three days before starting to get the things on the list done. He ran out of time and has not gotten all the listed things done. I don't know what will happen as a result, but I fear he may be in a bad mood over it. He could change his mind about Gizmo any time. The inspector comes today. I hope this all ends with the inspection. I'm really feeling stressed out, and it's been constant since Tuesday morning. I need this stress relieved. I need the pressure valve opened. It feels like living under a cloud of doom and fear.

It sounds like you are doing and have done all you can.  Now it will be up to others and i know that can be stressful.  Maybe taking a walk in a park would help to calm your fears. I certainly know that tendency to be stressed by what might happen.  Somehow my mind always takes me to the worst possibilities.  I'm better off the more i can stay in the present.

I'll have you and Gizmo I'm my thoughts.

Hugs,

Charlize

I know exactly what you are going through. Our apt has a 1 pet rule. and have 2 at the moment. Our mini Dachshund and our cat. Being it is low rent we have inspections at least once a year. Our doxie is our legal pet so we have to hide our cat. Usually she goes with mom to work. However our cat she is afraid of out doors. So it is hard getting her to take her our to the car.

About 5 years ago We had 2 dogs, our cat and some pet Rats. We had to hide all but our Sheltie which was our legal pet.

Hope all is going good with Gizmo and yourself as well.

Well, the inspection's done. The inspector blew in and out of my place so fast it was crazy. The pressure valve has certainly been opened a turn. Hopefully things will settle down now!

"Exstatic" is an adjective that means feeling great rapture or delight. For example, "His wife gave birth to their first child, and he was ecstatic about it". Synonyms of "ecstatic" include rapturous, entranced, enthusiastic, and frenzied.

Absolutely. Being able to encourage, to help, others is so empowering. I've been helped by so many people over the years, I love being able to pay it forward.

Good morning, everyone!!   A busy day ahead for me - need to cut the grass and then pick up the clippings. The grass grows so quickly this time of year. I cut almost 7 acres so that will take up most of my day. At least I can get some sun on my legs and arms!!   Time for another cup of coffee as I catch up here.   Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given.

I started shaving my legs years ago - I started getting an occasional mild contact rash on my shins. That became my excuse to shave them for both me and my wife. Over time, the rash didn't expand...but my shaving did. Full legs....groin......chest......and finally my arms. Keeping the rash at bay was my excuse until I came out to my wife. Now I typically do a full shave on Sunday mornings. The hair is lighter but I just feel better with it gone - it helps with the dysphoria and dysmorphia. I will also typically do a chest touch-up mid week since I notice the growth more there.   I wish someone would invent a pill that would stop hair growth everywhere except on your head.

Good morning.   im not sure where the time went.  I had a decent nights sleep,  didn’t  tell Alexa to let me sleep another 5 minutes,  I didn’t do anything extra but it’s almost time to leave and I just got here.  Definitely only a one cup morning.    I have the overhead console out of the Ford. It needed some repairs with toothpicks and glue.  Been sitting all night t for the glue to harden. I’m always to impatient with glue but not this time.  I want it to hold. Ok the next owner won’t be able to change the lightbulbs however in my defense, the are led so they will likely still work when the car goes to the salvage yard.   gotta go. Not as much on my plate at work today but it’s always busy.   Willow

Yes, my programmer friends and I think that antivirus software is a virus.  It's constantly searching your system and slowing it down.  If you install your own OS and software on your machine, and you make backups of your personal files, then you can recover from viruses in an hour or two.  My computer is 10+ years old and is working as good as the first day I had it.   As long as my computer is doing what I want it to do, I don't care if someone is spying on my system.

If you get a ticket, always say not guilty and go to court. Much of the time, the officer will not show up, and often the district attorney or the judge will not want to take the time. They ticket harvest because most people just agree to the fine and send them a check by mail.   If you are not a commercial driver, Most states also have a ticket forgiveness program. You take a little easy Driver's Ed Course, and it doesn't go on your record or increase your insurance prices. Explore your options!
