It’s almost here!! Will anyone be attending?! It truly is one of the coolest things I’ve ever been to. And this year I have been asked to march! I am not sure if I will or not yet, but I’m definitely going!! I’ve been looking forward to this all year!! No kids this year. Just the misses and myself.

Crazy outfits, 150k+ people, free shows, great food, parade, and an all round amazing experience. I recommend going if you can!! And if you’re looking for that “first time out” “dare to be great” moment well this can be it!! Nobody will even notice you at Pride. Boys are girls. Girls are boys. Everyone loves whoever they want. It’s truly an awe inspiring experience.

Plus I’ll be there! ?. I’d love to meet up with anyone who is going. Please let me know!

It sounds like fun! When is it?  What dates?  I was just in MA this past weekend, so not sure that I can get back up again.

I'll be there on Saturday the 8th for the parade -- and checking out all the info booths from supportive organizations!  Also hoping to attend a concert by LGBTQ composers tomorrow night, June 1st (another event in Pride week).

Got hooked on Boston Pride last year, when I was part of the Yes on 3 canvassers who walked up to total strangers and asked for their support for trans rights.  No way I'm gonna miss it ?

PM me if you want to meet up, and we'll figure something out.

Now -- what to wear?? <grin>

Here’s the link. It starts today actually. But the big day is next Saturday. That’s the parade and the big to do.

Oh, I am so disapointed!  I wish I had known!  I would have tried to come up this weekend or next weekend.  I will definitely keep in mind for next year.

Glad that PHX does their Pride in April.  Cause it's already in high 90's to 100 here in PHX.  But I miss Pride.  I am thinking on heading up to Flagstaff for the Pride up in Flagstaff AZ

I will. I’m not sure how long I am required to be with my work group. It says it’s 11-4 but the parade isn’t that long. So I’m not sure if there’s other requirements for the day.

I finally did sign up so I am marching! And my wife will be coming as well. I think it’ll be really cool!

We have some friends going as well so it should be a fun day altogether. And it’ll be cool to get some pics marching. I really can’t wait!

The parade is this coming Saturday. There were some shows and parties (high heeled race) this past weekend, and there’s some parties during the week this week as well. Dances, club takeovers, etc... but the main stuff will be this coming Saturday.

Found some of my outfit for Pride! I am beyond excited!

ill also have a rainbow of clip in hair extensions in, and a rainbow bow to hold it all back. My eye makeup is gonna be a kind of rainbow of eyeshadow with some glitter and bright pink lips I think. And multi colored polish as well.  But no heels. There’s too much walking so it’ll be sneakers for footwear. I will bring some heels in case we hit a club at night. But for the parade and the afterparty it’s all about comfy.

My wife is going to be in a solid purple thule skirt with her ally tee and some crazy leggings. Similar hair and I’ll be doing her makeup as well!!

Did i I mention how freaking excited I am!?! Wooooooo!!!

Haha. I hope so Astrid! I am definitely not going for the blending in look. ?. But it’s gonna be a blast!! Pride is like a trans girls Halloween the way I see it. So I’m dressing up.

And hey, if we meet up I’ll be easy to find! Maybe. Lol.

Accidents happen.  So do heat-of-the-moment murders, without premeditation or trans-related hate.  It will take a trial to really figure it out.     One thing we can see from this is that it is people in our circles of acquaintances, friends, and partners who are the ones who usually hurt us.  Not someone random. We have to be careful who we trust.

Friday May 17th is IDAHOBIT (International Day Against HOmophobia, BIphobia and Transphobia).   Do you acknowledge or celebrate it? Do you do anything special for it, like taking part in any organized events or activities?   I'm not an activist and I prefer to fly under the radar, but I am slowly becoming aware of important dates. I have been aware of the date of IDAHOBIT for a few weeks now, but other important 'rainbow' dates have not been etched into my brain yet.    I will wear my favorite pride t-shirt as a token acknowledgement of the day, but it probably won't be seen; cool weather here will mean that it will be hidden under a sweater.

Happiness for me comes from being cognizant of the things that make me feel good.   Sunshine.   Pandering to my inner woman.   Knowing that some people in my life really 'know' me.   Vacations, and Eggs Benedict at an alfresco cafe.   My wife and I being telepathic.   Grandchildren.   Music.   Wine!

True.  Every trans death is not a hate crime. There is so much hate expressed by some people, that we kinda get to expect it.

happiness to me is being ME. At all times, and it has yet to happen.

Hello & welcome, giz! Your post makes me remember how excited I was to join here too. I also had queer friends at the time I joined, but any of my trans friends lived a long distance away. So most local queer friends are gay & I felt uncomfortable coming out to them bc I couldn't assume they'd understand genderqueerness. So it was a thrill to join here and immediately have access to do many wonderful, genuine, kind & thoughtful friends-to-be.   Are you saying you're concerned that if you come out to your queer friends that somehow your parents will find out?     My love, I just want to affirm that that's not a weird dysphoria. It's just dysphoria. And we definitely get it. You're in good company here!     Look forward to seeing you around here & getting to know you. I shoot for androgynous appearance as well, leaning towards masculine.   Hope you're having a splendid day!

Listening to a YouTube mix for me and this song came up and I immediately fell in love again and just want to play music with like minded musicians playing OUR music and feel the joy and fulfillment even if no one else gets it. I love to fall into the music....

      What is happiness for you?

Funny.....   The day-centre transportation director told me yesterday morning that I was to receive an award, my picture on the website, etc... for having won the billiards tournament (I knew better).   Later that afternoon he returns to "shake my hand" and tell me, "thanks for participating."   I could have told him that was all I would receive earlier. I'm not well liked by management.
