Summer time means femininity all around

Good morning,

It's getting warmer and feminine features are out all around. During the cooler months clothes are more utility driven to keep us warm, but those warmer clothes are bulky and hide curves. But summer is about bare minimum that is comfortable to you. There's shorts, skirts, tank tops, etc. but the hallmark is the swimsuit. Nothing says woman like swimwear. Guys have trunks, but they are pretty much sorts. A woman's swimsuit is one of a few pieces of clothing that screams I am a woman.

I was out on my porch looking at my complexes pool yesterday, and was watching two girls playing around the pool with their moms laying out. As someone contemplating transitioning but currently in the shadows I was a little jealous of all of them. I would love to one day, wear such clothes out in public. Plus those girls don't know how good the have it, being young with no responsibility.

Oh well......Someday maybe a swimsuit in public might be in my future.

Now you have me remembering the old song "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polkadot Bikini" from my young teen days. No bikini's for me thank you.  I do have swim suits that are age appropriate though.

Here is PHX, we have been having our warm weather and I have been in a swim suit.  Due to my scar on my stomach, I am not liking my body.  But I have been wearing a 1 piece and I am planning a trip to the salt river ion PHX and I am going to wear a cute 1 piece

I actually prefer one piece swimsuits, I like the way they hug your body. Although being pre-transition I don't have the features to work a two-piece. If I ever come out of the shadows and transition. It would be either tankinis or one-peices. The tanning has the benifit of ease of going to the bathroom without getting naked.

I wish there were a private place I could swim.

Although thinking about it if I get to a point where I have real breasts and a vagina. It might be interesting to try a bikini. Wearing that skimpy of an outfit in public could be exhilarating. It would be a challenge to get the nerve up, but could be really fun.

It’s nice to see that you are feeling better about transitioning!

I have a bikini top that I wear all the time. I’m holding off on the bikini bottom until I finish my bottom surgeries.

Ellora, yes I am thank you.... not sure what I am going to do yet. But I have hope now.... I think in the short term I want to learn about all my options and expectations; and get my butt in shape and see what I look like skinny.... It will also improve my metal state.... still not sure if I can muster up the currouge to take the plunge. I am not sure how my family and work will react. My family is what I am most concerned with, I am very close to them. I am pretty sure they have no clue, i have hidden this very well my whole life. As far as my work goes i worry about how discrimination is very possible in the work place. I am paid fairly well for what I do.

Btw... is that image on your profile taken with that snap chat filter or is that how you really look? I ask because it's a beautiful photo. If that is really how you look, you are beautiful .... that filter by the way is awsome I saw the me I want to be..... Thanks

Hello Dawn:

I will tell you what I have been told.  Be prepared to lose everything.  Anyone can tell you that when you come out, not everyone will be supportive.  Do your research for your work.  You can try to test the waters or hint with family.  but for the most of us here, we have lost our families or part of families, we have lost our jobs and had to get new jobs.  Dont hold expectation too high and be prepared to lose everything and if you dont, YAY.  If you do, So Sorry.  might lose some family and friends and might keep a few.  We never know with people.  But I just say  be prepared.

Thank you Amy for the advice. That is what I am currently wrestling with, trying to decide whether to transition or not. On one hand i have spent forty years living a life where i have forced myself to be a man including a failed marriage , while loathing my body. And on the other hand all I have in this world is my job and family, some I know I will loose, some I have no idea if I let my secret out. I am at a major crossroads, with life changing decisions ahead that once followed can't be turned back from. Fortunately I have sometime, and am going to focus on health and learning for awhile.

This year I have not gone as far as a swimsuit as yet, but it was a lovely warm day here yesterday so I wore a long summer dress when I went into town to do the shopping. The first time this year.  Looking around I noticed most women were still in their jeans and other, more wintery clothing but not only was it right for the weather, but it made me feel right too. I love feminine summer dresses!

Hi! I’m happy that you are doing well! During our Journey, we can get overwhelmed very quickly when trying to think of everything that we want to do, and how will affect everyone, you me everyone. Anytime you or someone else feels unsure, or overwhelmed, step back, take a breather and think about it more, if time permits. Don’t try to rush into anything if you don’t need to. Baby steps and more baby steps. When you feel the time is right for you And the other person/people/work... then you can try. Maybe try starting slowly, and ease them into the conversion. Easing in, could help you and the other person, plus if you feel it isn’t going well, then you can always try again another day. It could take a bit, but at least you have something to work with, and you can have a more manageable discussion. It took me forever, and I still have a long way to go, but I’m not feeling as anxious anymore, cause I’m doing it my way, while hoping for the best all the time.

Omg, thank you your kind words. That it the filter doing some of the work. That’s my long curly hair, my lipstick, and my eyes. The filter helped with the lighting,  eyeliner and the rest of the makeup. The makeup from the filter help with my laugh lines ? and helped smooth out my face a little. I will post an unfiltered pic of me after I go to Sephora, and have a makeup session. Sephora has trans friendly people trained  to help us. I just need to figure out which one to go to. I plan to do it closer to Pride for a test run for Pride.

I am the same. Wanting to wear a ladies swim suit out. when I go to a hotel pool anymore. I wear a ladies one piece, with a t-shirt over it and a pair of ladies swim shorts. If It gets empty, I will strip off the shorts and t. It feels so great to wear a woman's swim suit.

For those who are not out, I suggest a ladies Swim shorts. I have been wearing jut them for 5 years no problems at all. I have worn a bikini bottom under them at times. As the leg holes can be revealing sometimes. LOL.
