Baby steps

Well hello everyone.  I have two appointments today. First one is with the electrolysis to begin removing all facial hair. That is going to be a long process according to Vicky, the electrolysis

technician.  My therapist said that  removing the facial hair should come first. Then after that is my second appointment with my therapist. Yay, today he is getting a letter over to the doctor to start my

  Hormone therapy. I am also going to go to both appointments dressed a little differently. I found a perfect fitting pair of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. I have picked up a few tops Over the last couple of weeks and found the right one to wear. I also picked up a couple of bras this weekend. So this will be my first test out in public. I will keep you posted.

That’s very exciting! I hope it all goes well.

 

And be prepared for some good ol pain with the electrolysis! After the first few sessions it’s a little better maybe. Not as far as pain or any of that, but you start to see some results and that makes it at least a little better. And yes it will take a loooong time. Hundreds of hours actually. But it’ll all be worth it!!

Thank you Kirsten. Does the face they red for a while? Or swollen? I really don’t want to look like I just had something done.

My face gets little bumps all over it. And the day of its kind of red. But within 48 hours it’s smooth with minimal red left. 

But it is definitely very noticeable. 

 

Also idk if they told you or not, but get a numbing cream. I use a lidocaine creme called aspercreme. It’s like 9 dollars and it lasts a while. I put it on my face 2 hours before my apt and cover my face with a piece of Saran Wrap to keep it from getting dry. Then I reapply more an hour before just to make sure it’s all still nice and moist.  It seems to work better the longer it sits on your skin wet. I also take 600mg of Motrin 1/2 hour before I get there as well to help with the pain. It helps some. But by the end of my time in the torture seat it has all worn off or it just hurts like hell anyways. Idk which. Lol.

Oh it covers easily with a medium coverage or better foundation though. I looked for a post visit pic of my face, but I have none.

As you get further along in the process the recovery time is lessened.  Now 2 hours after you cannot tell I had electrolysis.

That will be a great day! Lol. I will say she already has a much easier time plucking em out now than at the start.

Holy cannoli.  I have a high threshold of pain, but man. That was no fun. She said that the lip area is the most sensitive to do and for me to get a good numbing cream. But hey, it’s all for a good cause. No stop in this train from moving no more. Have an hour scheduled for Monday. Got my letter sent off from my therapist to the doctor to get started on HRT.  Thank all for the advice and encouragement. It does help.

The lip area is the toughest!  Hang in there.

 

Kirsten as I understand it the root segment is smaller as the follicle is killed off making it somewhat easier.  I remember the root used to be huge and it seemed to hurt more having it removed than the zap.

It sounds like those baby steps are getting pretty big now!  The letter from my therapist to start HRT was a big one for me.  Oh by the way.......try to keep a numb rather than a stiff upper lip as the tears flow.

Love the people here! Not only great advice but you all have a way to put a smile on my face ?. Time going by. 3 therapy sessions already passed. And so far everything on schedule. And the big news!! Found out my company’s insurance covers surgery, facial contour, voice training and augmentation. ?
